Full disclosure, I love writing interview questions. If there were a career where I could create behavioral queries, in particular ones requiring deep psychological reflection, I would be an even happier woman.

Psychological safety is a hot topic of conversation in many organizations, given the current wave of anxiety, depression, fear, and stress some people are facing. How can Agile environments enable a safe psychological space for employees? One important step is hiring suitable candidates who embody safe psychological practices and can either champion current established internal behaviors or became a change maker to co-create new best practices. Either way, understanding how candidates have responded to psychologically challenging situations in their past are critical indicators of how their behavior will translate in your organization.

When we consider the definition of psychological safety, mckinsey.com reports:

Harvard’s Professor Amy Edmondson coined the term “psychological safety” in a 1999 journal article exploring its relationship to team learning and performance.
