August is rough

I feel for August. It has none of the excitement of July holidays or September beginnings; it’s hot and muggy; it seems like nothing actually gets done. Everyone who wasn’t on vacation in July is MIA now, so nothing in the business world seems to happen (or so it seems to a young professional).

Maybe it’s OK that August is spent being content with July and excited for September. Not every month can be fun. Without the meh months, we would never have great months. So I’ve been embracing the meh of August, and finding little things to make the days matter. Maybe I’m just young, but September is when things really start to happen (football, school, autumn festivities). My suggestion to all of you obviously bored readers who are reading this for some reason: embrace the meh so you can enjoy the yays.
