After a close call with nuclear annihilation, humankind determined they needed a neutral benevolent overseer to chart a new course for the future. By an overwhelming referendum, humanity chose the Guardian AI for this task.

…there’s not much to do anymore. There has been no meaningful work since Guardian deemed human workers obsolete and inefficient. At home a robotic personal assistant takes over the housekeeping chores. Archibald, my robotic AI anticipates my every need — it’s annoying. This day starts the same as every other, with the gentle shaking of my bed. No, it’s not another California earthquake, it’s the Arch, “Wakee, Wakee.”
