June 30 marked the final day to submit to our first fiction-writing contest, and there’s good news and bad news:

The bad news is we didn’t get many submissions, despite extending the entry deadline by two weeks.

The good news is that the submissions we did get are great, and deserve some of your attention.

The pieces below with the most claps by the end of July 15 (ET) will win $50 USD, while the second place finisher will receive $25 USD.

Please clap and comment for your faves:

(Xanthia 2.0 is by our editor, therefore can’t win contest)

I also want to give a shout out to a few writers that submitted to the contest, but did not fit all criteria to be considered for prize voting.

I encourage you to give these stories some love too:

Thanks so much!

Stay tuned for more writing contests from Ai-Ai-OH!

I’m planning to hold more contests here in the future, with a bigger prize pot that will hopefully attract more participants.

I also pledge to be clearer with the contest rules in the future, so there’s no disappointment.

Thanks for your entries, and now your votes!

The winners will be announced by July 16 or soon after.
