Predictive Analytics

Upping HR’s game from descriptive to predictive people analytics

Bernard Marr has partnered with MHR to write a series of whitepapers on advancing people analytics. In the first of these series, Marr explores some of the ideas around the shift from descriptive analytics — what he says is like looking in the rear-view mirror, to predictive analytics.

Through examples from other functions and industries, Marr outlines use cases of predictive analytics to improve customer experience and business operations and explores how HR can learn from these applications to improve strategic planning and the employee experience.

Impact of AI on HR

Navigating the hype and impact of AI in HR

In this post, Megan Marie Butler examines the key findings from a recent report from Wharton professors on the impact of artificial intelligence in HR, where the authors examine the challenges, current innovation process, and some of the vendors that are using AI to disrupt HR practices.

The post examines the four areas of AI life-cycle management:

  1. operations
  2. data generation
  3. machine learning
  4. decision-making

Chatbot Chatter

7 ways to use chatbots to elevate HR

HR professionals can be overwhelmed with the number of questions and requests they receive daily from candidates and employees. With the expectation of quick responses to repetitive questions, it quickly becomes a time consuming and demanding part of any HR role. This is where chatbots are finding a niche as a supporting role to help with the everyday work.

This article looks at some of the critical areas chatbots are helping HR professionals, including recruiting, onboarding, benefits, and L&D.

CDO & CHRO

Strengthening the HR-digital connection

As much as CDOs need HR to deliver their digital strategy, HR needs CDOs to improve their service delivery. Typical examples include the development of a retention strategy by using predictive analytics or the implementation of an HR chatbot — both of which requires both the CDO and CHRO. As technology continues to disrupt business CDOs and CHROs need to remember, “digital is at the heart of the evaluation of HR, and HR is at the heart of digital”.

Employee Engagement

Employee engagement? There’s an app for that

Research from Slack examined the connection knowledge workers have to their work and organisation. The work found that the vast majority of employees desire an opportunity to connect with their co-workers, both in the office and remotely. They also want a connection with their work and in order to achieve this they desired transparency in organisational decision-making.

To help improve these connections, there are several applications to help. This article goes on to examine seven products available and how they measure and improve engagement.
