If you have been following my previous articles, you will notice that I made quite a lot of customized gifs especially for the Data Science Made Easy tutorials such as the one below.

Gif by Author

Today, I am going to reveal the tips and tricks behind it. Upon the completion of this tutorial, you should be able to create your own customized animated gif or video for your Medium publication or project. This tutorial has 5 sections:

  1. Setup
  2. Editor
  3. Webcam
  4. Board
  5. Conclusion

1. Setup

We are going to download an open-sourced software called ScreenToGif which is a

Screen, webcam and sketchboard recorder with an integrated editor.

You can either download ScreenToGif from the official website or the github release. The installation is very straightforward and easy. You should have a executable file in your system just like the one below.
