As a writer on Medium, I pour my heart and soul into creating content that I hope will resonate with readers.

But my success is fueled not just by my own efforts — it is the encouragement and support of my audience that truly allows me to thrive.

When I first started out, I wasn’t sure if anyone would even read my work. But then a reader left a comment saying how much they enjoyed my article.

That small gesture lit a spark in me.

Another person took the time to not only read my words, but also share their thoughts with me. It made me feel seen.

Since then, every notification has motivated me to keep writing. A simple clap or highlight reaffirms that my voice matters.

It’s incredible how a small act of appreciation can push me to aim higher.

The Power of Encouragement

I never could have imagined the power that encouragement holds…

Yes this motivate me to write more.

But now I understand how it drives my motivation, helps me improve, and allows me to take risks.

Knowing that there are people out there who value my work gives me the confidence to explore new topics and styles.

thank you❤❤ too Nora Sartovuo for these amazing words…

It creates a positive environment where I feel safe to express myself.

There have been many times I almost scrapped an article because I was unsure about it.

But then a thoughtful comment from a reader encouraged me to hit publish.

More often than not, that story ends up being well-received.

My readers’ support helps me push past self-doubt.

Encouragement also strengthens the bond between my audience and me.

It shows me that they are invested in my development as a writer. And it inspires loyalty in me towards them. This mutual relationship is so fulfilling.

Small Gestures, Big Impact

I’m constantly amazed by how small gestures can have an incredible impact.

Something as simple as a clap or 30 seconds of someone’s time reading my work means so much.

It tells me that my voice reached someone, made them think, elicited emotion. And it recharges my motivation.

I appreciate when people highlight their favorite passages too…

It draws my attention to what resonated and helps me improve. Feedback through comments is invaluable as well, even if it’s just letting me know what they enjoyed.

And when people share my articles with others, it introduces my work to new audiences.

Every single action, no matter how small it may appear, makes me feel valued. It inspires me to write from an authentic place.

And it gives me energy to continue pursuing this passion of mine.

We’re In This Together

This writer-reader relationship is a beautiful thing.

Without engaged readers, my stories would just sit alone on a screen. But with my community rallying around me, my voice is amplified and my message spreads.

It’s synergistic — I write content to entertain and inform, readers support me through actions like commenting or highlighting, and in return I feel motivated to keep creating.

By supporting each other, we foster a positive environment where encouragement and appreciation are core pillars. My readers contribute so meaningfully to my growth.

In turn, I strive to write stories that will resonate with and inspire them. It’s a powerful cycle that elevates us both.

At the end of the day, we’re in this together. Every act of encouragement propels me forward and reaffirms why I do this in the first place — to make genuine connections.

My readers make that possible for me. I’m endlessly grateful for this community I get to be part of.
