AI Network Launches New Runo Plan to Strengthen AI Collaboration Ecosystem
In late 2022 AI Network launched Runo (running node); a collaborative computing resource service that allowed anyone to become a GPU resource provider, contribute toward decentralized AI development and get rewarded in $AIN token for doing so. The service was successful, selling out in four rounds, proving the demand for an AI collaboration ecosystem.
However, the original Runo had some limitations. Resource providers had limited visibility into the projects their resources were being used for, and resource users needed more understanding of what services or benefits resource providers were looking for.
To address these limitations, AI Network is launching a new Runo plan that will grant resource providers with more direct & concrete rewards and allow AI developers & startups to attract resource providers and evaluate the marketability of their projects.
Under the new plan, Runo will be sold as a crowdfunding token directly investing in projects. The process will be as follows:
- A startup or individual developer submits a GPU support program proposal.
- AIN DAO members vote on the proposal.
- If the proposal is approved, Runo sales begin.
- The number of Runo sold determines the amount of GPU provided.
- Resource providers (Runo holders) receive AIN rewards.
- Resource providers can earn AIN by running or stopping their Runo.
- Resource providers receive benefits before and after the project.
The new Runo plan has been designed to provide increased benefits to resource providers, resource users and the AI ecosystem as a whole, through improving the ecosystem’s decentralized AI development workflow.
Resource providers supplying their GPU resources will receive more direct and concrete rewards through the new Runo plan. These will be both in the form of $AIN token and in benefits through the actual projects which they are contributing their resources toward. Resource providers will also have the opportunity to evaluate the utility & marketability of the projects they are providing for, and the opportunity to attract first users and valuable feedback for those projects. All in all, resource providers will have far more control over which projects they contribute to, more involvement in the projects being developed and greater, more concrete rewards in exchange for providing their resources.
Resource users who utilize providers’ computing utilities will benefit by having easier access to GPU resources for development, greater transparency into resource providers and the opportunity to build relationships with those providers. Connecting resource users (AI developers, app builders etc.) with resource providers will foster better communications & working relationships between the development and resource sides. This will be invaluable toward developing AI applications which will ultimately be more effective from both the development and use-case perspectives.
The AI Network ecosystem as a whole will benefit from the new Runo plan through increased collaboration and effectiveness of AI applications. Stronger communications and vision-alignments between resource providers and resources users will ultimately benefit the AI applications being built from all sides. These increased collaborations will also work toward increasing innovation in AI development, motivating creativity and ingenuity within the AI Network ecosystem and the wider AI space as a whole.
