This Saturday was our eighth week of learning and we were privileged to hold our class on Naive Bayes algorithm as part of the Devfest sessions. The room was packed as usual with machine learning enthusiasts.

The session was a three part session that began with a theoretical dissection of the principles behind the Naive Bayes algorithm. We then proceeded to do a mathematical example based analysis with case studies. Lastly we dived into a codelab where we looked at the implementation of multinomial naive Bayes in sklearn where we made a spam filter and evaluated its precision, recall and F1 score.

This event was a good opportunity to create awareness on AI Saturday movement and encourage other people to sign up as ambassadors and start a chapter in their city. With there being a diverse representation of people from over 26 countries this was a great initiative.
