This weekend in our free workshop of Nurture.AI, we covered the second chapter of “Reinforcement learning: An Introduction(2nd Edition)” by Burto and the second chapter of the “Deep learning book” by Ian Goodfellow, Yousua Bengio and Aaron Courville. Our instructors were truly professional and we covered the topics pretty rigorously. We are also going through the cs231n lecture notes and their coding assignments. Moreover, one of the coolest feature of our course is that we are covering “Introduction to Probability” by Dimitri Bertsekas and John Tsitsiklis which will help us to understand the CS294 course along with other papers on machine learning . I talked on Information Entropy, cross entropy and focal loss in our last class.

One of our instructor sadat Hussain talked on vector spaces, Cauchy–Schwarz inequality and Perceptron algorithm as a basic learning algorithm from Yaser Abu-Mostafa’s The “Learning from data book”. Another participant Ishrat Naiyer presented KNN from cse231n. Among others Amanat showed us linear regression using basic python libraries . We had 4 hours theory and 2 hours of coding session with 1 hour lunch break. I distribute the topics in a way that everybody had to read everything. Next week I will be presenting an advanced algorithm for contextual Bandit problem from Microsoft research papers. We will soon have our website and GitHub repository up along with video tutorials. Until then see you.
