2018 was a busy year for Osaro. Last year we worked hard to market OsaroPick, our proprietary vision and control automation software, to systems integrators worldwide — focusing on tapping into markets for automated storage and retrieval systems (ASRS) and ecommerce fulfillment. In 2018 we were also excited to provide live demonstrations of our technology at several trade shows, including LogisTech in September where we manned a booth in collaboration with IHI and Tokyo Pack in October with our partners at Innotech. We opened up a satellite office in Tokyo around the same time to better support our overseas customers and to provide regular demonstrations of our software to wider audiences.

We also launched a new product: Osaro FoodPick, an automation software package that can pick up food items in environments where food is nonuniform or jumbled, and place them in specific areas on a food tray. It’s unique in comparison to other automated systems in that it is able to tolerate imprecise container placement and adapt to place novel food items without any additional training. In partnership with DENSO Robotics and Innotech Corporation, we offered public demos of Osaro FoodPick at FOOMA 2018, an international food machinery and technology exhibition hosted in Tokyo. Check it out FoodPick at work in the video below:

2018 had a lot of exciting developments in store for our company and we look forward to undertaking new challenges in the new year with things like moving across manufacturing verticals, growing our expertise with integrating robots and end effectors onto our platform, and tackling progressively harder environments and more precise tasks. Keep up with our activities in 2019 here and on our Twitter.
