Machine Learning for a social change

“ Investments in agriculture are the best weapons against hunger and poverty “

Whenever I go through newspaper every morning , the suicide news of farmers disturbs me a lot . Science is advancing in every field
day by day . But , the poor farmers striving hard to provide us food are ending up committing suicides . So , my idea is to apply machine learning in
farming and help the farmers achieve productive cultivation .

Uneven rains affect farming badly . Farmers due to lack of idea about the amount of rains that will shower in that season are cultivating
crops that require lots of water . Lack of water owing to uneven rains are leaving them in debts . So , understanding occurrence of rains over
previous years and estimating amount of rains in fore-coming years can assist farmers in choosing suitable crops for cultivation .

My idea is to develop a machine learning algorithm that takes temperature and amount of water in rivers into consideration and predict the amount
of rains that year . Farmers can choose their crops accordingly based on the predictions . This creates healthy farming environment and this
in-turn reduces suicides of farmers .

I come up with this idea . This may not be very effective . But , this helps farmers and promotes cultivation well because we all are
aware that “ Farming is the backbone of INDIA “ .
