Emily Reid Named Interim CEO of AI4ALL
AI4ALL is excited to announce Emily Reid, Vice President, Open Learning, will take on an interim CEO role effective January 1. As AI4ALL CEO Tess Posner announced in October, the organization will bring on a new CEO in 2022. The search committee has seen a great deal of interest from a set of strong, diverse candidates, and is actively interviewing.
Though Tess will still be involved in the organization’s work as an advisor and consultant, she is stepping back from the CEO role at the end of 2021. Emily’s new role will ensure continuity and strong leadership as the AI4ALL CEO search committee takes the time they need to complete their thoughtful process and ensure a smooth transition under new leadership.
“I am extremely honored to steer our ship through such a critical and exciting time,” Emily said. “Tess and our team have built the foundation toward solving AI’s most pressing problem, and in 2022 our programs are poised to radically shift what it means to develop AI and who leads that work.”
Emily joined AI4ALL in 2018. Under her leadership, AI4ALL’s Open Learning program launched in 2019 and has impacted more than 4,000 students in more than 850 classrooms in 48 states and the District of Columbia. After students complete the curriculum, 80 percent report they have achieved AI literacy and want to continue studying the discipline.
“I have had the honor and pleasure of working with Emily since 2018, when she joined our team to launch the Open Learning Program and open our New York office. I am thrilled to see her taking the reins as interim CEO,” said Tess. “I know she will bring her passion for AI4ALL’s mission and deep expertise in nonprofit leadership to driving AI4ALL’s continued momentum through this transitional period.
