What is team building?
Team building is an ongoing process that helps a work group evolve into a cohesive unit. The team members not only share expectations for accomplishing group tasks, but trust and support one another and respect one another’s individual differences.
This has become an issue after the Covid-19 pandemic. New joiners come and join our team during the pandemic, and at the moment we are working from home. So the joiners are not meet their colleagues. This not only happens for new joiners but for the old staff also facing relationship issues.
There is a funny story for this issue, like someone chatting with another, but suddenly he doesn't know that person he is chatting with is a lady.
AIA is caring about this. So they help us to create an event that will encourage our relationship with each other. Why this relationship is important? Good working relationships will make your job more enjoyable. What’s more, close-knit teams are more productive, which frees up time to innovate and focus on your personal development. The professional connections you make will also help you to further your career.
Team building activities are a great choice to build a relationship. We can build trust among team members. Remember, a professional work relationship is built on trust. Team members should also respect one another, and be inclusive in considering different opinions. Self-awareness and open communication are key to making this work.
What do we do? Of course, we go to places that cover team-building activities. We choose District 21 in Putrajaya Malaysia. We do a trampoline, maze, launch pad, hop aboard, roller glide, and free fall. We support each other, we give a spirit to those who are not too brave to jump to make them confident to do the games. We built the trust!
After all of that games, we go to dinner together. Yes, this makes us more good in a relationship. We share another story, we share about what we do, what is our hobbies, life, accomplishment, future planning, etc.
