The happiness of course for us as workers if it turns out that in our company there are many supporting components not only for work but also for learning in order to develop our knowledge.

I have worked at AIA Singapore for almost 3 years and worked as a business analyst in the Digital technology team. as someone who has worked a total of 7 years as a BA, developing knowledge of testing skills is a must.

I am very lucky in this company, precisely in this digital technology team, we are given the freedom to learn and develop knowledge, especially in terms of knowledge of testing abilities.

Why Guild is Important?

We can, of course, learn on our own, but having a community to fall back on is even better.

For lots of folks who are the sole tester at their firm, a meet-up provides a space for them to not only to discuss what they’re currently working on, but also to identify what technologies other companies are working with.

So here, we are not only discussing daily work, but more than that we also discuss the progress and development of testing automation tools. A few of the things we discussed were the comparisons between each testing automation software that we knew, then we discussed in regular weekly meetings.

Collaboration

Testing is not only carried out by people who work in the technology team, more than that testing is carried out by application users themselves, most of whom do not know about coding and programming languages. so we embrace them to collaborate so that we can provide a method or another side of testing so that they can provide their point of view.

This activity is of course very fun, because we become aware of the limitations of the users of the application itself, and another advantage is that we can find out more about the business flow from them.

Testing Guild Event

Sometimes there are many people who have the desire to join or at least give their opinion about the testing we do but do not have the desire to join our community. so we held a routine to invite more people and teams from our company, to a guild testing event.
in this event, we will provide an explanation of the topic or application that we use and often talk about in the community. and we open every idea, idea, and criticism from everyone who took part in the event. so this is beneficial for us and them to then develop together as individuals, teams and even greater for the company itself.

Sample of Invitation

So again, it is an advantage and a pleasure to join a company that is willing to expand our knowledge.
and for you guys, don’t ever hesitate to join any community, where you are interested in knowing and learning more about it.
