Organised by Thomson Reuters
They may not be in plain sight, but there are 40.3 million people in some form of modern slavery. That’s the combined population of New York, London, and Bangkok. All of us in the business community share a responsibility to take a stand.
The summit was organised to showcase growing willingness for businesses to work together and take action , in particular to identify how technology can making it easier to identify supply chain risk.
The day was comprised of spotlight presentations and interactive panel discussions around 3 key themes:
- Putting the “S” back into ESG — An investor’s perspective
- Leading with laws / the modern slavery risk — the C-Suite and Director duties around slavery risk
- How is technology helping us fight back?
We were honoured to have been invited to the event. CEO and Co-founder Joseph Thomspon shared how blockchain technology can revolutionise the ways in which governments, corporates and NGOs deliver digital entitlements across the world — and how transparency and traceability can play a role in securing supply chains and affect malpractices.
