Dublin, Ireland — December 20, 2018 AID:Tech, the company that transforms how governments, enterprises, and NGOs deliver digital entitlements, today launched the TraceDonate app, in partnership with the Irish Red Cross. Commenting on the launch, Danny Curran, Director of Growth at AID:Tech said: “we are striving to improve transparency in the donation process, and therefore providing a platform to engage with donors. With this app, not only can you tell where your donation was spent, but also for what, and how much.”

AID:Tech’s Director of Operations, Grace Ma, says “having an organization like the Irish Red Cross as the first to utilize our TraceDonate app is not just a vote of confidence for AID:Tech, but for the mainstream use of Blockchain technology. From initial contribution to end-use, TraceDonate will benefit individual donors, recipients, organizations, NGOs, and charities themselves.”

The app will allow individual donors to donate funds to individuals, groups, and appeals which are created and managed by each NGO and charity. Donors can also view and track their contribution history within the app and stay informed through mobile and email notifications of how donated funds are being used.

Through the TraceDonate app, end beneficiaries will receive donations directly from individual donors. Organizations, NGOs, and charities are provided with individually branded pages to allow users to donate to different organisations with ease.

“By partnering with a company as innovative and ambitious as AID:Tech, we hope to empower those who support the work of the Irish Red Cross to track their donations and in turn further promote transparency in the sector,” said Liam O’Dwyer, Secretary General of the Irish Red Cross. “We want to become the benchmark for the donation process, and our relationship with AID:Tech provides us with that opportunity.”

Founded in 2014, AID:Tech was the first company in the world to deliver international aid using Blockchain technology. In a ground-breaking project in Tripoli, Northern Lebanon, the company utilized their platform to transparently deliver aid to Syrian refugees in partnership with the Irish Red Cross. AID:Tech’s platform enables entitlements like aid, welfare, remittances, donations, and healthcare to be digitized and delivered through Blockchain technology in a completely transparent manner.
