2024 COMPUTEX Taipei AI x Data Guided Tour (EN)
I was lucky to get the last ticket of the guided tour for AI x Data. It’s so hot when you mention AI + something. I truly believe that when you talk about AI, you need to consider what kind of data you are referring to.
The guided tour started at 2:30PM on 6/6. A beautiful lady was holding a sign to instruct people to come to join.
I was there near entrance of area P way longer before the tour. I was so excited to hop on the trend to learn more.
The first company we visited was Kontron. 樺漢科技股份有限公司Ennoconn Corporation and Kontron have a significant relationship through a corporate merger.
Kontron, founded in Germany in 1962, is a global leader in embedded computing technology, providing innovative solutions for various industries, including industrial automation, medical, and transportation sectors.
A lady briefly introduced the company, then a German engineer came to talk more about the motherboard of different sizes, or x86_64 or arm based system board that they offer.
The second company we visited was C&T Solution Inc. 智愛科技股份有限公司
C&T Solution Inc., also known as Cincoze (德承工業電腦), is a Taiwanese company specializing in industrial computing solutions. Founded in 2014, Cincoze designs and manufactures rugged industrial PCs, panel PCs, embedded systems, and GPU computing solutions for various industries such as automation, transportation, and energy. The company is known for its high-quality, reliable, and durable products designed to withstand harsh industrial environments.
From their setup of demo, I can clearly understand there are two major branches. One is NVIDIA Jetson Orin Solutions, and the other one is rugged fanless mini PCs.
With such a small PC, it can track several people’s posture and shown on the monitor. It’s impressive.
The third one was Goldkey. Goldkey Technology Corporation (凌航科技) , is a Taiwanese company that specializes in the development and manufacturing of industrial computers and embedded systems. Founded in 1998, Goldkey focuses on providing high-quality, reliable computing solutions for various industrial applications. Their product range includes industrial motherboards, panel PCs, embedded box PCs, and IoT solutions. Goldkey is known for its commitment to innovation, quality, and customer satisfaction, serving industries such as automation, transportation, medical, and retail.
Everything is AI. Even the memory is called AI memory which is what I don’t understand.
Not only memory, the sales guy also introduced AI Server Gen5 eSSD, some motherboard or industrial PCs.
The most interesting part is that they provide an immersive dinosaur grabbing activity. The real use case would be for medical doctors to learn human body in such 3D and interactive mode.
The fourth company we visited was Protech Systems (南京資訊). They demoed an rugged tablet can measure box size from an app without rulers. It leverage 3D camera and AI algorithms to estimate the width, hight, and depth of a box.
The final one was SENOR Group (星喬科技). SENOR is a leading POS(Point-Of-Service)/touch system solution provider since establishment in 1990. SENOR understands the critical needs of reliability systems in hospitality, retail business and even harsher industrial environments.
The amazing thing is that they put their PCs very near water or even inside a fish tank.
Conclusion
With the one hour of guided tour for AI x Data. I strongly feel that traditional desktop PC cannot handle strange temperature or water-proof for a PC. Therefore industrial-grade PC plays an important role to survive in extreme environment. After the durability is considered, we can apply AI algorithms on top of industrial PC (IPC).
