We usually try and do an update every month or so, but the last two months were just too packed! Sorry! We’ll try and make it up to yo’all with an absolutely massive update!

Or not.. we know everyone is super busy a this time of the year. So a snappy update of the most important.

A quick summary:

  • First clients: yes
  • Important partnerships: established
  • New beta program: filled
  • Momentum: a lot
How do you stand out among 50 companies? We tried this crazy (?) slideshow, with great results at Xynteo Exchange in Olso in November (more below).

Onboarding our first client

We are excited to announce that we have signed with our first “normal” client. The organisation funds international and local organisations in Asia and Africa, and we will be able to make that funding more predictable and more effective!

AidHedge will provide a full portfolio analysis and hedge facilitation through the platform.

(There will be a separate full communication about this together with the client during Q12019, when fully onboarded).

A strategic partnership with Disberse

Disberse is a new type of financial institution that enables aid organisations to manage aid flows more transparently.

We are thrilled to partner with Disberse, working together to build a financial institution designed specifically for the needs of the aid industry.

By integrating AidHedge into the Disberse platform, users will be able to optimize their financial transactions throughout the lifetime of an entire project.

All the financial costs and risks associated with an international project are automatically analysed — including foreign exchange risk, burn rates, inflation and interest rates — enabling informed decisions about how to manage funds, maximising project efficiency by lowering financial costs.

A short intro to AidHedge + Disberse: The tools you need to improve the effectiveness, efficiency and transparency of project funding, from start to end. And it’s all seamlessly integrated in one service.

The Beta is... full!

One reason we have been so busy is the interest in our new beta. We launched it in October, and has now closed it for a while as we want to make sure we can continue to deliver quality. Interestingly the program has changed focus a bit, as several organisations expressed an interest in a currency policy module. So that is in development now, and will be tested by the current beta cohort!

We hope to bring in new organisations in February. If you are interested, read here and get in touch!

We brought Robert Kautsky with us to represent AidHedge at Xynteo Exchange. A lot of fun!

Talking talking talking about AidHedge…

Communicating about the values we create for users and partners has not been getting enough attention while we have been focused on development. No more!

The last months we have been out talking more about what we do, meeting tons of different organisations, companies and interesting people. The feedback has been so important, really accelerating our development as well!

One important activity was our trip with the DIT to the north of England, together with fintechs from around Europe. Truly some important days, with lots of connections and lessons learned. One important lesson was that Ivo Lejon has decided on Manchester for the 2019 AidHedge Tour!

The Xynteo Exchange in Oslo turned out to be another really important event.

We didn’t know much, but it turned out to be an amazing event with handpicked participants from around the world tackling the big questions — together — for real. We learned a lot from the process itself, and made tons of inspiring and important connections! If you get the change next year — go!
