We have had a super busy period, but though it would be good to take a short break and share work, and all the progress with you all. We have a newsletter but we though we complement it with post here, giving us a bit more space (but dont forget to sign up as well!).

Attention, this is an old article where certain parts may not be completely up to date. Aidhedge is a young company where things quickly change. We have chosen to retain the article as a “lessons learned”.

So the last real update was in September. Yeah, sorry! October was just packed! But that means this mid-November post will be as packed, full of progress.

A lot of registered users!

In October we closed down our open beta to allow us to focus more on development. It means that users cant create their own project at the moment. But we also opened a possibility to create projects directly from IATI (more about this in a second!).

And users continued to register! A Friday beginning of November we celebrated 998 registered users! It has since then reached past the magical first thousand. We are absolutely thrilled, of course!

In October we also had a lot of work in our en-depth case studies, together with both aid and financial partners. We will be coming back with more detailed reports about those once they are ended in December. There are a lot of lessons learned about more effective aid transactions!

Adding thousands of activities at once, connecting to IATI!

End of October we launched a first integration of IATI data. It allows users to create reports directly from data in IATI, just by using the activity IATI-ID.

As IATI holds financial data about hundreds of thousands of aid activities, we are absolutely thrilled about this!

We are also really happy about the reception, especially from the IATI-community. We got a lot of input and feedback from them and others, and tried to give back by documenting our lessons learned in a series of posts. You can find them here (launch, lessons, tech).

New website!

In mid-October we launched a new website. The old one was just not informative enough, and really didn’t cater to anyone. Aid organisations and financial partners could not find what they needed to understand what we do. And we just could not communicate enough though our site.

We move so quickly, so we needed to become able to share more! So in addition to our new site we also released a new blog, using Medium. It allows us to share information, insights and updates without taking a lot of time from our other work.

Our awsome new blog, at story.aidhedge.org

We have A LOT of new cool things in the pipeline, so don’t forget to follow us here, on Twitter or to sign up for our newsletter. Or even better, get in touch!
