Is blog-writing a dying art? Something done by one generative AI and only read other AIs? I hope not, for me the blog — with all its flaws, misspellings, weirdnesses and sometimes outright offensiveness — also constitutes a fundamental part of the internet. It has been around since the very beginning and better than anything else the democratization that internet brought along. Everyone and their mother was given the opportunity to express their thoughts and opinions,

There will be no pearl without the grain of sand.

Pearls are made by marine oysters and freshwater mussels as a natural defence against an irritant such as a parasite entering their shell or even a grain of sand. Without the friction the mussels will simply chug along and no beautiful pearls will be spawned.

An internet without human-produced blogs will probably be a much smoother internet, with less weirdness, spelling mistakes and sometimes outright offensiveness, but probably also an internet with less pearls.

When working with applied innovation friction is part of the routine, software libs are often experimental, hardware is immature or heaviliy modified, the need you are solving for is often less than clearly described. There are often multiple possible ways to explore and without exception there will be surprising hurdles to clear.

Over the past week, we have engaged in a series of innovative projects, ranging from workshops on future tech and generative AI to exploring new dimensions of art and music in the Metaverse. And in between we got to make a new friend, Ernie — a NAO robot developed by Aldebaran. It has definitely not been a smooth ride, but a very enjoyable one.

Future Tech and Generative AI Workshop

This week, we hosted a workshop for our clients to discuss the world of future technologies and generative AI. We explored the trends driving e-commerce and how to apply generative AI today in order to prepare for the changing competitive landscape. The workshop was a great success, as it allowed us to exchange ideas, explore potential collaborations, and empower our clients with the tools they need to remain at the forefront of innovation.

The NAO Robot Project Addressing stress and Insomnia among children

We’re thrilled to be exploring solutions to help children cope with stress and insomnia. For a week we have been working on teaching a NAO robot to communicate around stress with children, offering guidance and comfort. According to research children will in some situations find it easier to interact with a robot than a human to talk about topics like stress and insomnia. Thus this project will hopefully lead to healthier sleep patterns and overall well-being among children.

Malmö Live and Lund University Collaboration Malmö Symphonic Orchestra Meets the Metaverse:

In a partnership with Malmö Live, Lund University and many more, we are embarking on a cool project to transition the Malmö Symphonic Orchestra into the Metaverse. This endeavor aims to create new, engaging experiences that blend the world of classical music with cutting-edge technology.

Our objective is to design a virtual space where audiences can enjoy live performances, interact with musicians, and even participate in the creative process. This immersive experience will not only introduce classical music to a new generation of listeners but also offer an innovative way for musicians to connect with their audiences.

The human pearl.

It has been an exhilarating week at AIE Nordics, filled with learning, innovation, and collaboration. We are proud to be part of these initiatives, driving the future of technology and redefining how we interact with the world around us; being the grain of sand in the oyster :-)

Stay tuned for more updates on our ongoing projects, and feel free to reach out if you’d like to learn more or collaborate with us on exciting ventures!
