Hello innovators and innovation advocates!

Both good and not so good news: We’ve been buzzing with innovation projects at the Applied Innovation Exchange for the last few weeks (good) and unable to commit to our weekly updates (not-so-good). But, I am finally able to catch you up!

Johan bringing AI (and the AIE) to Kristianstad

Kristianstad University
Whilst I was getting my wisdom removed, Johan was extolling the benefits of embracing new technology for the nursing students at Kristianstad University during their Innovation Bootcamp. His inspirational and highly engaging talk ‘Quantum Computing and Creativity’ aimed to dispel the fear around Artificial Intelligence taking over jobs and disrupting the world. The world needs disrupting and who better to get that message across than our own Johan Müllern Aspegren!

The Hive: Future of Connected Health, Focus on AI & IOTs
The whole AIE team and fifty of our closest friends and health care enthusiasts came to listen to 6 exciting speakers covering the topic of AI and IOTs in healthcare. Our line up for this session of The Hive was outstanding and there were many more than one connection made. The next session will be at the end of May, but we have yet to decide on the topic. All ideas are welcome!

Raging with our RIOT Labs
We have so many talented and most importantly curious colleagues and we want to harness their collective power. We started up RIOT Labs (Rapid Innovation and Operations Team) earlier this year but lately it is really taking off. We have 3 (hush-hush) innovation sprints running now and more in the pipeline…

Super secret tech stuff Johan is working on with RIOT Labs…

Working together on test and learn cases we know are interesting to our clients brings so many opportunities. Our colleagues strengthen their connection to the organisation and gain hands-on skills while our clients benefit from our learnings and explorations. Win-win!

Sustainability: Climate Fresk Workshop
At the AIE we are very focused on creating a world that has resources for the generations that come after us. Intergenerational prosperity is a super important part of sustainability and we are continuously educating ourselves to know more so we can help each other, our own organisation and our clients to achieve our sustainability goals.

Mapping out cause and effect for climate change

One part of this was participating in a Climate Fresk Workshop, which takes a pedagogical approach to understanding the complicated work of the IPCC (Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change). Through a collaborative game using 42 cards, teams create a map of cause and effect on the environment. Our experience was enlightening to say the least, as we all ‘know’ about climate change, but seeing it laid out in front of us really drove the message home. You can take the course and become a facilitator to spread this understanding with the intention to drive more action for change. I highly recommend it but bring tissues as it isn’t a pretty picture to paint.

That’s all for this week. We have a lot going on here but we’re always up for a demo or a chat so if you are in the neighbourhood, please do stop by!

Keep innovating!
