Resiliency

For those who have not met me yet, I’m Kiara Romero! I’m from Talent Management and I will be sharing with you my journey of growth. I’m not perfect, but I believe that one does not grow if they do not fully accept their own weaknesses, much more learn from it.

The past is something I have a hard time getting over with. There are times where I would wish that I handled the situation differently, I wish that I said the right words. I often beat myself up making me feel like I’m at fault all the time. However, you see, I have learned that the past you’ve lost will never come back. How can you move forward when you keep regretting the past? — I myself have made many mistakes, but we can learn from it so we don’t repeat it. We need to remind ourselves that all the connections we encounter in this world serve as teachers who nurture us.

As leaders and normal human beings, we know that we bear a great responsibility to the people who look up to us and to those who we look up to — but we need to love and take care of ourselves more in the process.

I learned that life can be tough, cruel, and tiring, however, the choice is up to us whether we take that against life or we live life getting back up and making wiser decisions instead. Chin up and stand up for what you believe in. Make yourself proud. The goals you have set for yourself will always be there because the path you make for yourself shows how much you have grown as a person.

Always remember that someone out there cares for you, you are human too. You are allowed to feel tired, to feel pain, to breakdown. You are allowed to rest, cry, and to smile because no matter how deep the night gets, it will always turn to day eventually. That is the beauty of being resilient.

You’re like a sunset and a sunrise, like in a roller coaster called life that never keeps stopping.

Over this pandemic, I stumbled upon a line from a series I have been watching and it reminded me to live life with a kind heart. I want to live life a little kinder than I was the day before, every day. I have accepted that it will not be easy however, no matter who you were before DOES NOT define the person who you are today.

It is time for us to look at things from a brighter perspective in this world amidst the difficulties that we continue to see in social media — whether may it be the pandemic, the people who have hurt us, or other social injustices.

Don’t let the past hinder you from grabbing opportunities that come your way because new experiences are what make life worth living.
