Latest Breakthroughs
These are four essential characteristics of human intelligence — reasoning, planning, persistent memory, and understanding the physical world — that current AI systems can’t do. In this article, we primarily see the limitations of LLMs and how big companies create fake marketing campaigns to fool us.
Why LLMs Can’t Plan And Unlikely To Reach AGI?
It is time to think even more deeply and directly question the nature of intelligence. Try to understand how the human brain does it and how different it is from current-day machines, not just in scale but in terms of the design itself. So, let’s get ready for an interesting ride about intelligence, the next generation of machines, and the human brain. We bust all the myths related to current AI capabilities and try to understand how future systems will be fundamentally different.
We delve into the complex question of why Large Language Models (LLMs) lack common sense, despite their impressive capabilities. The article challenges popular notions about superintelligence and individual AI potential, arguing that our understanding of intelligence itself may be flawed. It proposes that environmental factors and civilizational progress play crucial roles in shaping intelligence, suggesting that the path to truly intelligent AI may not lie in isolated, self-improving systems. By examining the architecture of autonomous intelligence, the limits of individual AI scaling, and drawing parallels with human brain design.
Scale Won’t Turn LLMs Into AGI or Superintelligence
The limitations of artificial intelligence (AI) have been a significant topic of discussion among researchers and theorists. This article brings together some of the critical arguments from top scientists around the world on the implausibility of an intelligence explosion and why AI will never be conscious like humans. This article aims to introduce the readers to a bunch of high-level ideas and let them discover from there onwards.
So, amidst the awe and excitement, a profound question lingers: Can AI ever truly understand the world as humans do, Can AI truly become Conscious in the future?

AI Monthly News
AI fever cools, wiping out $1.3 trillion on Nasdaq
Investors soured on the promise of artificial intelligence (AI) on July 24, sparking a US$1 trillion (S$1.3 trillion) rout in the Nasdaq 100 index as questions swirled over just how long it will take for the substantial investments in the technology to pay off.
The important thing is to understand the difference between real development and the hype. I personally know many who jumped their career to AI, and soon it will be very tough for them to survive in the field. Be careful to jump the bandwagon.

Meta advances open source AI with ‘frontier-level’ Llama 3.1
Meta has unveiled Llama 3.1, marking a significant milestone in the company’s commitment to open-source AI. This release, which Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg calls “the first frontier-level open source AI model,” aims to challenge the dominance of closed AI systems and democratize access to advanced AI technology.
The Llama 3.1 release includes three models: 405B, 70B, and 8B. Zuckerberg asserts that the 405B model competes with the most advanced closed models while offering better cost-efficiency. It is beating even the best closed-sourced version of LLMs.
- Advanced Capabilities: Llama 3.1 offers enhanced context length, multilingual support, and state-of-the-art performance.
- Open Source: Meta emphasizes open-source collaboration, similar to the success of Linux.
- Widespread Use: Available on platforms like WhatsApp and integrated into Meta’s apps, aiming to become the most-used AI assistant.

‘Godmother of A.I.’ Fei-Fei Li Has Created a $1B Startup in Less Than 4 Months
Li’s World Labs hopes to use human-like processing of visual data to make AI capable of advanced reasoning, Reuters reported in May. The research to make it human-like, much like what ChatGPT is trying to do with generative AI, is still ongoing.
“[World Labs] is developing a model that understands the three-dimensional physical world; essentially the dimensions of objects, where things are and what they do,” said one venture capitalist with knowledge of Li’s work.
