This part is about my design interations process.

Mini Prototype Twist/Dive — Opinions System

Feedback1 — Xiaohan Ning

  1. How to make sure everyone follows the live guide? Especially the exhibition has so many people. The crowded environment.
  2. When I use the “shout out” function, I feel it makes me nervous and I need to use more time to think about it, because I am afraid I said something wrong.
  3. I want to look at opinions of someone who is experts in the art circle.

Reflection and evaluation — 1st Full Prototype

  1. How to make my design solution more specific to contemporary art understanding?

2. Does my design have too many functions?

Angie’s Feedback
  • Use love and mark function to help people collect information.
  • Put all functions in one page(?)
Jennifer’s Feedback
  • Use extra related material and artworks to make people understand more about the artwork they are viewing.

Questions I asked
What is the hardest part of contemporary art hard to understand?

What do you think about the interpretation feature? Question feature? Opinion feature?

Iteration 1 — Interpretation

Keep working on it. Think more about the layout and presentation way to make user read easily and amusingly.

Preference: immersive reading, 360 new layout

Question
I did some research about the Brooklyn Museum App, which is a good app for Brooklyn Museum Visitors to ask the question of artworks. The good part is the answers are from real employees and responsive. But the shortboard is when I ask any questions the answer would be long text which makes me feel I have pressure to read all of them. The app wants to build a conversational experience, but the real experience is like give the user more and more interpretation.

I am not sure if I still want to work for it(?)

Opinion

The opinion feature is controversial.
Some people like the idea because they want to express their opinion and would like to look at others opinion as well.
Tips:
There should be a trigger of expressing the opinion in App. People do not know how to express their opinion, or they will not express opinion proactively.
Experts’ opinion and general visitors idea can show on the same page.
Visitors like to look others’ opinion in real time, share the idea with other visitors in the exhibition at the same time. They want to have a conversation with other visitors.

Some people did not agree with the opinion idea, because they think it is hard for people expressing their opinion, and they only want to look experts opinions.
These experiments I will test which way is good for visitors to express their idea.

Idea 1

Visitors opinions are showed on a digital screen alongside with artworks. When visitors wrote any opinions by prompts, they can post on this digital board to share with others and look others’ opinion as well.

Idea 2 — Separate room for expressing and viewing others opinions

Idea 3

The reward function

Idea 4

AR Comments of Each Artwork
