Unless you’ve been living in a cave twenty thousand leagues under the sea, you’ve probably heard about AI everywhere these days!

But what exactly is AI and how does it work? Let’s start with a bit of history.

AI, or Artificial Intelligence, is a computer science discipline that aims to create machines capable of performing tasks that usually require human intelligence.

This idea dates back several centuries, but it wasn’t until the 1950s that serious work began. In fact, the history of artificial intelligence dates back to the 1950s, when the first AI research began.

It was during this time that researchers began developing computer programs capable of solving problems that required some form of human reasoning.

The first computer program of this type was developed by John McCarthy in 1956 and was called “LISP.” Over the years, researchers have developed new techniques to improve the capabilities of computer programs. For example, in 1957, Frank Rosenblatt invented the “perceptron,” a machine learning algorithm capable of learning to recognize patterns in data. In 1965, Joseph Weizenbaum created “ELIZA,” a program that was able to simulate a therapeutic conversation by responding to simple questions.

In the 1980s and 1990s, AI began to be used in commercial applications such as recommendation systems, speech and vision recognition software, and industrial robots. Over time, researchers developed new techniques to improve AI capabilities, and since then, AI has seen many advancements, particularly through machine learning and artificial neural networks.

It is in this context that ChatGPT was born.

Today, AI is used in a wide variety of applications, ranging from image recognition to automatic translation, as well as voice assistants and self-driving cars. Researchers continue to work on new techniques to improve AI capabilities, and it is widely expected that AI will play an increasingly important role in our daily lives in the future.

Let’s now talk about the famous ChatGPT, a language model based on transformer, a neural network architecture.

But what does this mean in practice?

In short, ChatGPT is capable of understanding a given context (for example, a question or an introductory sentence) and generating an appropriate response using a large amount of previously collected data.

The operation of ChatGPT is based on intensive training from textual data. Specifically, it is a pre-trained language model on a corpus of diverse texts, such as newspaper articles, novels, web pages, etc. This technique allows ChatGPT to learn to recognize the most common language patterns and use them to generate coherent text.

Now, how can we best use ChatGPT?

Firstly, it is important to ask clear and precise questions, avoiding overly complex or ambiguous phrasing. It is also advisable to provide clear and complete context, so that the AI can better understand what you expect from it.

These questions that you ask are called “prompts” in computer language.

A prompt is an input text that is given to a language model and is used to generate a response. A good prompt is a text that provides enough context for the model to understand what the user wants, but is not too long or too complex.

To generate the best prompts and get the most out of ChatGPT, here are some tips:

  1. Be clear and precise in your question or request. Avoid long or complicated sentences that could confuse the model.
  2. Use specific terms and concrete examples to help the model understand what you want. For example, if you want to know the current weather in Paris, you could use a prompt like “What is the weather like in Paris right now?”
  3. Try to avoid ambiguities or double meanings. If your prompt can be interpreted in multiple ways, the model may generate a response that doesn’t really answer your question.
  4. If possible, include additional information that could help the model provide a more accurate response. For example, if you want to know how long it takes to make a cake, you could include details about the type of cake you want to make, the recipe you’re using, etc.

By following these tips, you should be able to generate effective prompts that will allow the model to understand what you want and provide useful responses.

Now that you have the basics, try some prompts with U2, a completely free and registration-free generative text and image AI!

Finally, it is important to keep in mind that ChatGPT or U2, which uses the same technology, is not perfect and may sometimes produce responses that are not quite accurate or adapted to the situation.

In this case, do not hesitate to reformulate your question or clarify your request.
