ChatGPT vs Gemini Crypto Portfolio: 4 Months Later
It was the 6th of March 2024, when I decided to ask ChatGPT and Gemini to draw a cryptocurrency portfolio starting from $10,000.
I Asked ChatGPT4 and Gemini to Create Their Own Crypto Portfolios!
The composition was quite different, but both bots came with conservative strategies.

4 Months Later…
Both portofolios are in red, but that’s expected, considering the bearish months we’ve been through. Overall, though, there are different ways to be in red, and regarding this, we have a clear winner.
While Gemini performed with a -16.86%…
…ChatGPT defended its value with a respectable -7.35!
It’s important to notice even how Gemini got red with every single currency, while ChatGPT guessed its bet on BNB right.
Was ChatGPT good or just lucky? I think just lucky, as BNB is the sole currency that really made the difference between the two portfolios.
The Most Important Lesson
In the long term, it looks like diversifying in crypto is not a wise strategy, at least not during a bear market. When no bullish action is on sight, the best is to simply stick to BTC.
Though GPT’s portfolio went close to the performance of BTC, it never exceeded it, and eventually, it fell behind the king of cryptocurrencies.
The reason is that all the other coins don’t move until Bitcoin moves.
Diversify your crypto only during a bull run. For the rest of the time, just hold BTC!
Let’s see how these two portfolios evolve during the next 3–4 months… I’m very curious.
