Is Perplexity’s Deep Research Feature Any Good?

Could it be a strong and affordable alternative to OpenAI’s Deep Research?

Last night, while browsing social media, I saw that some users were already able to use Perplexity’s “Deep Research” mode. I figured this feature was probably being rolled out gradually, so I immediately opened my Perplexity to check, but the new mode wasn’t there yet. I felt a little disappointed at that moment.

Perplexity officially claims that the results generated by this “Deep Research” mode are very impressive, second only to OpenAI’s Deep Research.

Although it ranks second in performance, for most of us, this new Perplexity feature is very attractive. Why? The key is the price difference.

Non-paying users can still use Perplexity Deep Research for free a few times a day; if you’re willing to pay ($20 per month), you can use it an unlimited number of times per day.
