AI Plugin for QGIS
We integrate Aino AI with QGIS, making spatial data analysis accessible to all users, regardless of expertise or software preference.
Why Release the Plugin?
QGIS boasts a substantial user base, with approximately 200,000 active weekly users and over 2 million irregular users worldwide. These users rely on QGIS for various tasks such as cartographic work and data analysis. However, the abundance of tools and customizable features in QGIS can sometimes make it daunting for new users to navigate.
To address this challenge, we developed a plugin that enables QGIS users to leverage the power of AI assistance to create maps effortlessly. Our goal is to simplify the process of accessing and analyzing geospatial data within QGIS, regardless of users’ experience levels.
How to Use the Plugin
Using the Aino AI plugin for QGIS is straightforward. Simply type data queries into the plugin, such as:
- “Building footprints in 500m around Sagrada Familia”
- “Residential streets in Munich”
- “Waterways in Amsterdam”
- “Peaks in Kazakhstan”
Aino will then search for relevant data from OpenStreetMap and generate vector layers based on your query. Once your map is ready, you can seamlessly share it with your Aino project on the web app for easy styling, collaboration, and publishing.
Our Vision for Development
We are committed to continuously enhancing the capabilities of the Aino AI plugin for QGIS. Shortly, we plan to incorporate new global data sources, including detailed administrative boundaries, points of interest, urban infrastructure data, environmental data, and more. Our aim is to provide users with a comprehensive toolkit for spatial data analysis and visualization directly within QGIS.
