“If you want to command a multiyear, seven-figure salary, you used to have only four career options: chief executive officer, banker, celebrity entertainer, or pro athlete. Now there’s a fifth — artificial intelligence expert.” — Unknown

Who is an AI Professional?

An AI engineer builds and tests AI models. They must be able to move between traditional software development and the unique needs of AI learning. They also navigate the learning spaces of their neural networks and the business value those networks provide.

Once your organization moves to AI-driven initiatives, it will need someone to be the point person for creating and evaluating those algorithms. Consequently, the position is a hybrid of data engineering, software development, and data science. So, what’s the big difference from what you have on your team now? Well, AI Engineers understand how to deploy machine learning.

The Role of an AI Professional

An AI engineer builds AI models using machine learning algorithms and deep learning neural networks to draw business insights, which can be used to make business decisions that affect the entire organization. These engineers also create weak or strong AIs, depending on what goals they want to achieve.

AI engineers have a sound understanding of programming, software engineering, and data science. They use different tools and techniques so they can process data, as well as develop and maintain AI systems.

If more precisely, there is no definite description of the profession. Everything is determined by the specific area of use of information skills. However, there are some things that absolutely any AI Engineer will do, and here they are:

  • designing, undertaking and analysing information
  • specialising in a few areas of development, such as networks, operating systems, databases or applications
  • helping to safeguard an organisation's computer networks and systems
  • playing a key role in the design, installation, testing, and maintenance of software systems
  • be a specialised type of programmer who may collaborate with web developers and software engineers to integrate Java or any other programming language into business applications, software, and websites
  • studies the software application domain, prepares software requirements, and specification documents

What an AI expert should know to do his work?

A survey on programming languages and tools used for AI

To do all this stuff AI specialist should have the following skills:

  • he should be well versed in programming and know several programming languages
  • he should perfectly know all the Machine Learning algorithms
  • he must be able to work with data warehouses, speak the SQL language for compiling queries
  • analyze and model data using the programming languages R or Python (NumPy / SciPy), or use the SPSS / SAS or Matlab application tool packages
  • visualize data using, for example, Matplotlib tools

But wait! There’s one more thing you really need to know. The field of AI has ever been expanding from past few decades, since it’s significant developments. The AI that’s being used across industries is Cloud AI. But, if you would scroll down to see the Gartner’s hype cycle for emerging technologies, you can see Edge AI on the rise. And why does that even matter? Since Cloud AI has been the backbone of AI driven services?

The First Mover Advantage

There’s a reason why most players are always likely to win, the reason behind that- First mover advantage. What does this mean? This simply means that Cloud AI has been dominant and still is. But that’s changing and there’s been a transition since some time, a significant change that’s being taking place and that is Edge based AI. Big players like Google, Nvidia, Intel, Microsoft and a lot of AI startups have been eyeing on this emerging tech lately. That’s happening in the USA and China and other economies but, would take some serious time until we see it here in India.

But NO, It IS happening in India- Edge AI seeing it’s birth in India and driven by the goal- DESIGN IN INDIA. Yes, I am talking about ShunyaOS.

Getting Into The New Wave of Edge AI- ShunyaOS

Nope! not Steve Jobs

What if I tell you about a product that makes the SMART devices you have- TO LEARN, TO THINK? Well, first off one’s very fortunate if they get to work on such kind of product in their career. The purpose Shunya is that it’s developed because there are quite a lot of startups and business owners in the domain of AI, IoT and AI+IoT who would want to do Proof of Concept(POC) /MVP development quickly and not only that but, also in a very short amount of time, get it done rapidly. And others would be able to do all of this but that would take some serious time for them. But this doesn’t favour businesses as, that’s like throwing away their time but if you ask me about Shunya, I’d like to reveal a few points that would really make you want to turn your attention towards Shunya:-

1) Shunya understands that writing code for your applications/features, right from the scratch can be cumbersome, time consuming and that’s why it already has built-in code modules that you can just drag-and-drop, develop and run that service or product.

2) It’s a no-code platform. Well, for some of your business instances a low-code platform- but this would be the setup you’d be making to run your services.

3) A Low Code light O/s for IoT with integrated AI.

4) Low Cost as it is Made in India.

Shunya Offers Benefits Not Only To Startups, But Also YOU

Human beings are driven by the desire to be important

I would like to ask you- Wouldn’t you like to be of a certain importance? Wouldn’t you like to work on something that would reward you in return? I would certainly be thinking about these questions and be really investing my time in things that would give me that importance if you were to ask me. And for that I would say, not only are AI professionals positive about Edge AI but also investing their time in Edge AI and if you aim to be a AI professional, you should be investing your time learning it. Well, here’s something I think you would be really interested in.
