J.W.SIMPKIN FIRE & SECURITY
J.W.Simpkin are a fire protection specialists with over 70 years experience in the passive fire protection sector. They are based in Ilkeston, Derbyshire.
They have taken that experience and have now established a frontline fire protection division which offers more extensive fire protection and security services.
We were approached to look at their existing website and add the new services within the pages. What we found was a poorly designed, under performing website. Initially we began working on tidying the existing website up but after a few weeks of work, the company decided that a new website would be better.
LOGO & COLOUR SCHEME
J.W.Simpkin already had a logo and an established colour scheme and there was no real reason to change them so we incorporated them into our new website design.
FULL SCREEN IMAGERY
We wanted the website to be big and bold and instantly recognisable. Each page header would have a full screen image and a bold introduction.
CHOOSING THE PERFECT FONTS
We chose two fonts for the website — Neue Haas Grotesk Display and Raleway.
Neue Haas Grotesk Display we chose for all the headers and headlines as it works best in upper case, and Raleway for all the copy.
CREATED FOR ALL DEVICES
We made sure that not only did we build the website for desktop browsers, but that we built it for mobile and tablet too. The website has not been auto resized using using platforms such as Wordpress or Squarespace or, God forbid, Wix. We have made sure every page fits perfectly and reflects the device people are using.
