Aira Engages Audiences at ´White Cane Day´ Gathering at Heiskell Library
In celebration of White Cane Day, Aira traveled to the respected Andrew Heiskell Library in New York City to participate in events and to introduce new audiences to Aira technology and services.
An integral part of the New York Public Library, the Heiskell Library is widely known for providing talking books and magazines and braille for people who are blind and visually impaired, in addition to hosting a wide array of hands-on events to educate the public about blindness, including workshops about vision loss, and presentations by visually impaired artists.
¨This engaging atmosphere is why we came to Heiskell at the invitation of Chancey, an Aira Explorer, to participate in the library´s White Cane Day celebration and to give a presentation on our services,¨says Suman Kanuganti, Aira Co-Founder & CEO.
In Aira´s presentation, Mary, an Aira Explorer, participated in a demo in which her agent described to her art, books and people in the library as Mary interacted and the audience looked on. Mary also engaged in demos near the library complex as well.
Says Suman: ¨These presentations represent the best of times for Aira as the company develops because they engage us in a conversational way with the community where curious, inquisitive minds provide lots of valuable feedback on our product, and ask a lot of great questions.¨
