Dear community, 2019 was a fruitful year for the Airbloc team.

All team members worked together to create a decentralized personal data trading ecosystem. We were relentless in spreading the philosophy of Airbloc among the enterprises we were connected to in our business network. As with many other projects in the space, in the course of business development, we were presented with limitations related to awareness regarding blockchain awareness, adoption, and regulatory challenges.

These challenges are opportunities for us to learn and develop more innovative ideas to overcome the limitations we have encountered. But what I want to assure you that despite these limitations, our company is healthy financially and still as strong in our pursuit of the Airbloc project.

In this article, I would like to look back on the path that the Airbloc project has walked with you for the past year and talk about the direction for 2020.

What We Did in 2019

Developed a Data Management Platform (DMP)

As mentioned in previous blog postings, we are currently focusing on the development of an enterprise DMP. DMP stands for Data Management Platform, a solution that can be used by enterprises to utilize real-time data for personalized marketing and business intelligence. A company utilizing DMP will be able to segment cohorts and audiences of their users based on their behaviour and attributes.

For the construction of DMP, we first built a module that stores the consent of individual data collection and utilization through the blockchain, and released it in collaboration with Battle Comics application under the name ‘Data Pocket’. .

In addition, we are currently developing an audience segmentation engine that can segment customer cohorts in the shortest possible time based on user behavioral data.

Migrating to Klaytn blockchain

Klaytn Governance Council Airbloc

We also migrated our base platform from Ethereum to Klaytn in September to ensure business scalability, network safety, and ease of communication with Klaytn’s development and business team. Since onboarding, all of Airbloc’s contracts have been operating on Klaytn’s blockchain network, and to this day they are actively communicating with Klaytn to develop products. With Klaytn’s active support to expand the ecosystem and maximize the synergy of each service, Airbloc can further accelerate the company’s actual use-cases and blockchain transaction volume.

Business Development

AB180

Airbloc’s parent company is supported by AB180, a company specializing in data analytics, marketing technology solutions, and performance marketing. AB180’s business networks, development know-hows are indeed useful for Airbloc’s business expansion and development with its wide business networks.

Airbloc utilizes the existing enterprise sales network of AB180 to secure corporate partners such as finance, e-commerce, and retail that can apply DMP-related blockchain technology.

In addition, we are developing ways to more securely store DMP’s user data collection and usage consent, as well as strengthening user privacy through blockchain.

Token Ecosystem

New listing on Exchange

On May 30, Airbloc is listed on Coinone, the third-largest cryptocurrency exchange in Korea. Coinone was determined to meet all of the conditions that the Airbloc team had in mind at the time of listing: 1. Transaction volume 2. Systematic and secure security policy 3. Access to community holders It is used and shows monthly trading volume of over 200BTC.

Token Swap

As we migrated Airbloc’s main blockchain network to Klaytn, we also migrated ABL tokens used in the Airbloc ecosystem from ERC20 to KCT. (See related announcement)

What to Expect in 2020

Continued Development of DMP

We are currently placing the highest priority on developing a DMP that enterprises can utilize. Within DMP, the blockchain technology will first focus on collecting and utilizing user agreements demonstrated through DataPocket, and will then apply blockchain technology to exchange and monetize data while protecting personal information more securely.

More details on this will be announced in detail in future blog postings.

Listing on New Exchanges

We are continuously communicating with exchanges that can maximize the token utilization, token liquidity, and ease-of access. You can expect exchange listings during the first half of the year in 2020.

Development Updates

We will continue to publish development reports quarterly, and information disclosure will be done through a variety of media platforms before and after the news release. One particular focus is on our progress with regards to DMP development.

Conclusion

Thank you for your patience and support for us throughout 2019. As stated at the outset, Airbloc project team is still healthy and stable despite the limitations we were presented with. We will continue to deliver more exciting business and development updates in 2020
