Recently we have received reports of multiple cases where people have purchased fake ABL tokens on DEX (decentralized exchanges).
It is truly unfortunate. When I was informed of this piece of news, I was shocked and I felt a strong need to guide our community members on how we can correctly differentiate fake one from the right one.
On DEXs, the most important principle to determine the fraud is to check the smart contract address. NEVER trade the token until you verify the right smart contract address.
Let’s deep dive into the case study.

This is the address of the fake Airbloc Protocol’s smart contract that was used by the scammer.

(1) Only has 57 transactions
(2) Tap into “Code” section and you’ll find that the original source code has not been revealed or verified
(3) “Token Tracker” section points to some random token that only shares the same name without valid symbol image
(4) When you enter to that token’s address, you will only see only few holders (17 holders specifically in this case)
For example, ForkDelta reveals smart contract address inside the URL, thus you can copy and paste this address to verify.
Our team members are closely monitoring DEXs to spot fake ABL tokens. Here are the list of fake ABL tokens so far detected. Don’t hesitate to report to us if you detect one yourself.

최근에 저희 에어블록 프로토콜팀은 가짜 ABL 토큰이 탈중앙화 거래소에서 거래되고 있다는 다수의 제보를 청취하였습니다.
이와 같은 일이 발생한 것에 대해서 저희 팀원 모두는 정말 안타깝고, 유감스럽게 생각합니다. 따라서 저희는 커뮤니티에 계신 분들께서 어떻게 진짜와 가짜 토큰을 구분할 수 있는지 가이드를 만들기로 결정하였습니다.
탈중앙화 거래소들에서 거래 시 반드시 주의할 점은 반드시 거래 전에 스마트 컨트랙트의 주소를 직접 확인해보셔야 한다는 점입니다. 제대로 된 진짜 ABL 토큰의 스마트 컨트랙트인지 확인하기 절대로 거래를 진행하지 마시기 바랍니다.

포크델타의 예를 들어보면, 포크델타의 거래창의 주소에 보면 스마트 컨트랙트 주소를 발견할 수 있습니다. 이 주소를 복사 붙여넣기 해서 이더스캔에서 검색을 해보시고 검증해보시기를 강력하게 권장드립니다.
