Upon arrival in Antalya we were greeted with rain, a lot of rain, after a drive through a stormy night we reached our destination, a cozy hideaway, perfect for a collaborative environment.

Kickoff to thunder & rain
The Summit was kicked off the next day with keynotes from Yanislav (Founder), Emil (lead æpps team) and Emin (Operations) accompanied by rolling thunder, merciless rain and sweeping winds outside.

The goal of the summit was to bring the people working on æpps together, familiarise with all the current projects and identifying the best contact points for each of them. As well as defining better standards and improve the support for people building on æternity.

On the first day, the focus was on project and team presentations. With science fair booths the attendees were able to showcase what they’re working on, in the evening each team held a short pitch in front of everyone.

Sessions, sessions, sessions..
The rest of the summit was in a session based format where people could host a session to a topic they were passionate about. From feedback, coding and introductory sessions to discussions about new standards and an æternity manifesto a lot of topics were touched.

Discussions, head scratching, arguments and in the end solutions
Besides taking part in many discussion we hosted an “AirGap Introduction & Feedback” session, where we showcased AirGap and gathered valuable feedback in terms of usability from the attendees.

And a “Wallet & æpp interactions” session which in the end was split over two days. The main goal was to define and find a standard of how wallets can securely interact with æpps. We talked about the architecture of how aepps can interact with wallets if they’re on desktop or on mobile — how the SDK an aepp and a wallet like the base aepp or a ‘third party’ wallet like AirGap would communicate.

There were a lot of discussions what the best approach is and how it should be done. In the end we came to the conclusion that we can take the current approach and add minimal SDK changes, so that for example a Browser Extension can interact with an aepp.

We’re looking forward to see the fruits of the æpps summit strengthening the æternity ecosystem and
