Introducing Beacon V4
As the Tezos blockchain continues to evolve dApps need to stay up-to-date with the latest technology. To ensure the best possible user experience, dApps should always use the most recent version of the Beacon SDK. We’ve recently released a new version (4.0.0) of the Beacon SDK with several new features and improvements, which will make it easier for developers to build high-quality dApps on the Tezos blockchain and provide users with a seamless and secure experience when interacting with those dApps.
Some of the new features in version 4.0.0 include:
- WalletConnect 2: support for WalletConnect 2 has been added, allowing wallets that support Tezos and WalletConnect 2 (such as TrustWallet) to easily add support for Tezos dApps.
- Trust Wallet: support for TrustWallet has been added.
- Improved UI: Beacon now includes a completely new pairing UI, which provides a better onboarding experience for new users.
- Analytics: dApps can now choose to pass an analytics instance to the Beacon SDK to track events such as clicks in the UI modal.
- Naan: the Naan logo has been updated.
- SDK: changed from Browserify to Webpack.
Beacon now includes a simplified pairing UI, with a better onboarding experience for new users. By default Kukai, Trust Wallet, Temple and Umami Wallet are listed first, this however can be adjusted, depending on your needs.
To take advantage of these new features and improvements, we strongly encourage you to update your dApp to the latest version of the Beacon SDK. This will not only ensure that your dApp is working correctly but also provide the best possible user experience.
