On 5 May 2022, the aiRight and DCRC RaceX team collaborated to successfully hold an AMA to provide more details of WenLambo, and progress updates. We are pleased to recap the main content of the AMA.

Representatives:

Tyree Robinson — aiRight CSO

Mohammed Badat — DCRC Founder and Tech Leader

Introduction

[Mohammed Badat]: My name is Mohammed Badat, I am based in Johannesburg South Africa.

I have been a software engineer for 32 years and have developed in many spheres. I currently own and run a Software development consultancy for the past 20 years as well as a Wireless ISP for the last 8 years. I have been involved in the Avalanche Crypto space for the last year as the lead developer for a project called Rugpull Prevention, where we try to prevent newcomers in the space from being scammed.

We bring a wealth of knowledge into this space and combine our shared passion for Motor racing, motorcar restoration, and modifications, together with the knowledge in software development to deliver a Racing engine that will be the core of Wen Lambo.

[Tyree Robinson]: Hello! I’m Tyree. I received my BFA from Carnegie Mellon University in 2010. I am a business owner, artist, and writer. I have joined the aiRight and Oraichain as a proud SamORAI Ambassador. As an actor, I have shared the screen with some legends, such as Steve Buscemi, Michael K Williams, and Jeffrey Wright. I have been working closely with the team to connect aiRight and all of the great advantages it has to offer to the many NFT artists and collectors that need it. I am looking forward to sharing with your community today!

Q&A with DCRC team

1, Tyree Robinson: The DCRC team has been grinding hard to get the game engine ready to launch. Will you tell us a bit more about your process?

Mohammed Badat: Yeah we have. We launched an Alpha version (public demo) in Barcelona last month when we attended the Avalanche Summit. It was pretty well received. The community was allowed to download and play the game and we offered a bug and suggestion bounty, which went off very well.

We then started our Beta Test program with selected members of the community and are making awesome progress.

We have completed revisiting the UI ( inspired by some ideas from a community member who is a part of the Beta Program). I think you saw some tweets about it yesterday.

This is what the new UI looks like. https://t.me/airight_io/52677

2, Tyree Robinson: What were some of the major hurdles you had to overcome in your development/ Web3 integration?

Mohammed Badat: We were looking for a seamless way to integrate without having users send private keys etc through because the version we are currently running is a Windows download version. We were considering some web service alternatives as we did not want to expose our community to any risk. This was the biggest hurdle we faced

We have managed to get around this and now the user is presented with a QR Code on this version that he just scans from his mobile wallet and signs the app to allow read access at this point to the game.

We expect Beta testing to run for another 2 weeks before we officially release the V1 version.

3, Tyree Robinson: Tell us a bit about the features that will be available in V1!

Mohammed Badat: In V1 we will allow Practice races, Player vs Player races, and Player vs Multiplayer races.

V2 will bring AI into the game where players will be able to race AI and the championship series will also be introduced.

We have also brought in the concept of hold to earn. Basically, every NFT and NFKey holder will earn from every race, PvP, and PvMP.
A percentage of the race entry pool will be distributed to holders after every race.

Tyree Robinson: This is great. Such a strong way to strengthen the DAO and give benefits to the community.

Mohammed Badat: Yeah, we want to reward our holders even if they don’t race.

You know the platform is only as strong as its community.

Tyree Robinson: So if we are holding DCRC NFCars right now and we’re not a part of the closed beta testing squad, our first opportunity to play will be with V1 release, correct?

Mohammed Badat: Yeah that’s correct. I may release another open public demo for our communities in a couple of days.

The advantage of the open public demo is that you don’t have to hold any NFTs or RaceX to try the game.

4, Tyree Robinson: So with the current Web3 integration, how do the NFKeys play into the experience for users?

Obviously, a major benefit is the opportunity to share profit in entry fees, which will be considered on Wen Lambo as well.

Mohammed Badat: So the NFKeys will give a random boost to some of the specs on the vehicle, it may be a power boost, a torque boost, may impact handling, it will be completely random.
Also users will be able to stake NFTs and will be able to run practice races to earn DPR, the earning of DPR will also be boosted by the NFKeys.

Tyree Robinson: Is this a feature that will come online in V1 or later?

Mohammed Badat: We are looking at how we will implement it in V1, it may just be for Driver Experience(DPR — Driver Performance Rating) in V1, but will be extended into every aspect in V2.

Tyree Robinson: That’s awesome. As we will be building from the framework that you are laying out on AVAX with DCRC, it’s amazing to see the effort and considerations that you’ve taken in developing this entire infrastructure from scratch.

5, Tyree Robinson: Currently the beta version is available for testing as a download for windows. What are your plan for IOS and Mobile touchpoints?

Mohammed Badat: Unfortunately we cannot please everyone, and building takes time. Quality is of key importance to us and obviously ensures safety for our investors as well

Yeah, it is currently available on Windows, we are finalizing the Mac version as well.

The team is currently optimizing the models so that we can do iOS, Android and WebGL versions.

Tyree Robinson: 100% Speed does not equal quality. It’s clear that you are carefully building with the end-user and their safety in mind.

Mohammed Badat: We are optimizing the models whilst trying to keep the quality of the models as high as possible

6, Tyree Robinson: I’m sure many of our community members who are aiKey holders are wondering when they will get to check out their beautiful cars. Do you have a timeline on when we might airdrop cars to all key holders?

Mohammed Badat: Yeah we are working on an end of May timeline to get the first 500 NFCars dropped to NFKey holders

7, Mohammed Badat: How is the aiRight marketplace looking for showing off these beauties. I know you were working on some changes to the marketplace right?

Tyree Robinson: We’ve been constantly updating and optimizing our UI. I think it would be great to get a custom landing page for Wen Lambo ASAP and start putting this thing on its feet.

Yes, we’ve redesigned 90% of our product to a cleaner and easier navigational look. Constantly looking for opportunities to improve.

Mohammed Badat: We are also looking to see how we can embed the 3D model as a part of the NFT as opposed to just the MP4 render. This is also a work in progress for the team and we are hoping to have a version out with our V2/V3 release.

So basically allow the user to zoom and rotate around the actual 3D model of the rendered NFT. This is taking some doing but we are quietly confident that we will realize this one.

Tyree Robinson: That’s sick. I can’t wait to dive into this with you and have it available for Wen Lambo users.

A little alpha drop here (since many community members ask about marketing often): For the remainder of 2022 we are looking at conference/trade show opportunities to spread awareness about aiRight and just this morning we secured our place at NFT NYC.

Q&A with Community

Question 1: Taking into account that the engine used for both platforms is the same will there be any cross-compatibility that would enable a team from aiRight users to compete against the other platform in a meta-type grand prix. With inter-player gambling on the race etc. If not is inter-player/race betting something aiRight will be incorporating for itself and its users.

Mohammed Badat: Yeah there have been talks about enabling racing between the 2 chains. This is something we will work towards. @brokentymr and I will discuss the logistics around this. The engine will allow it, we just need to see how we interact between the 2 chains for this.

Question 2: With the user traffic and fast-paced interaction of racing and multiplayer, how is the team planning on / handling the inevitable latency (“lag”) that comes with the load on the server? Utilizing predictivity of the races, timestamping, or something else? Thanks so much for all of your hard work and info!

Mohammed Badat: We are using tried and tested Unity networking protocols for the networking. They have built-in algorithms to assist in ensuring the correct outcomes of the races. We are also testing to see what the impact of this is.

Question 3: Blockchain games are a new trend in crypto, and most of the users are looking for games with Play to Earn we all know that there are many gameplay to earn now. What are your key features that set you apart from other projects and what competitive advantage do you have?

Mohammed Badat: We have some really interesting concepts that we believe will set us apart, we are aiming to be a truly multiverse project as we are enabling Real-world racing into the platform as well. This will allow you to use your real-world car to compete in straight-line races. so 1/8th mile, 1/4 mile, sprint races, etc…

We are also planning on integrating the real-world races against AI and NFT users, this is a challenge that we are currently working through.

Tyree Robinson: So also, this gaming ecosystem is set up to be Player vs Player, and iterations on that. Key and Car holders can share in revenue from game traffic passively, but this is not intended to be a farming type of play to earn ecosystem. This creates an environment where players can join at any time without any major advantage (beyond experience) against early adopters.

Mohammed Badat: That’s correct. 2 players can call each other out and race for any amount of tokens/NFT and a percentage of the player pool will be distributed to holders and the winner takes the rest.

Question 4: Is the trailer mode of this game available? And when will the final game launch be ready?

Tyree Robinson: @RPMoBoosted I think this is a decent question. We have a trailer and overview of the new UI, but when can the aiRight team begin working on the Oraichain side to prepare Wen Lambo for release?

Mohammed Badat: I think we can have an open demo for the Wen Lambo community within a couple of weeks. This will allow community members even they don’t hold keys to play the game and come forward with identifying bugs, features, and suggestions.

We could possibly run a bounty program as we did on the RaceX development.

Question 5: Does your project support a staking program? If yes. how is your stake system work, what is the requirement for users if they want to stake in your platform?

Tyree Robinson: It’s hard to find a question not sent by a bot, amongst the 3k messages sent in 30 seconds, but I think this is some generally good info to put out as well.

We currently offer NFT staking on aiRight and intend to extend this offering to a profit-sharing model for NFT Holders as well as NFCar rentals once the game is complete.

Mohammed Badat: So RaceX will have Staking of both RaceX tokens as well as NFT’s. the NFT staking will reward DPR(Experience and governance) and Single-sided RaceX staking will reward RaceX tokens, we are currently in the process of finalizing the mechanics around this and will release an updated white paper soon.
