When you search up “glamping” online you’ll notice several interpretations because it’s a fairly new word. From what I can tell, glamping is for the most part a jaw-dropping experience that often includes a high-end air mattress covered in pillows, tons of food so you never go hungry and awe-inspiring decor.

“Glamping is the combination of the words glamorous and camping, and although the term has only been around since 2007, it dates back to more than a thousand years.”

“Glamping” is often referred to when an extravagant tent is in use, but it can also be used for those who go camping with an RV or decide to rent a cabin because RVs and cabins are quite glamorous compared to your run of the mill tent and sleeping bag on firm ground.

Here are four perfect places you can go glamping at on Prince Edward Island!

#1 — Treetop Haven

📌 1210 Mt Tryon Rd, Albany, PE

Treetop Haven is P.E.I.’s number one glamping location and offers year-round access. Their TreePODs are geodesic domes suspended off the ground and each POD comes with a hot tub, a barbecue, a large deck setup with patio lights, a full kitchen, a bathroom and a double-sofa-bed. And yes, there are bedrooms. You won’t need to pack much other than food, clothing and self-care products. This getaway spot is located 36 minutes west of Charlottetown and 12 minutes north-east of the Confederation Bridge. Watch Jaclyn Gallant’s virtual tour to get an inside look at Treetop Haven!
