Here’s a list of must-dos for P.E.I. tourists and local residents to help them get the most out of their time on Prince Edward Island.

1. P.E.I. Lighthouse Road Trip

There are a lot of lighthouses on P.E.I. and many bold travellers and locals dream of visiting each one as every individual site offers a unique experience, story and history. Each lighthouse is different. Some of them have attached restaurants and even sleeping quarters, others let you climb to the top for a view of the ocean. Whatever you do, you’ll want to bring a camera.

2. Overnight In A Lighthouse

Did you know you can sleep in a lighthouse? Imagine, ending the day with a romantic stroll on the beach, listening to the waves crash gently along the shore. Then, as it becomes too dark and chilly to stay outside, you venture over to the West Point Lighthouse Inn to retreat to your room. The next morning, you wake up and decide to take a refreshing morning dip in the beach water before breakfast… Doesn’t that sound amazing?

3. Hot Air Balloon Ride

5. Tip To Tip Road Trip

Google Maps

“Tip to tip” is a popular island saying to describe travelling from one end to the other. At one end you’ll find the North Cape Light, an active lighthouse surrounded by wind-energy turbines, and at the other end you’ll find the East Point Lighthouse. You’ll see lots of things along the way like charming communities, dairy bars, beaches, farmland stretching out as far as the eye can see and more. Customize a Tip to Tip Road Trip however you like!

The island will surprise you with how many fun activities there are to do, but don’t be overwhelmed. Make your time on P.E.I. worth while by starting with this list and work your way up.
