Broadcast Limit
1.Is there any limit to the number of broadcast messages to be sent?
Yes, there is a daily limit on the number of unique users to whom the broadcast message can be sent. There is no limit to the number of messages sent but on the number of unique users. Also, it does not apply to the messages sent in response to a user-initiated message within a 24-hour window. There are basically three Tiers.
Tier 1: Allow businesses to send broadcast messages to 1000 unique users on a daily basis (in the 24-hour slot)
Tier 2: Allow businesses to send broadcast messages to 10,000 unique users on a daily basis (in the 24-hour slot)
Tier 3: Allow businesses to send broadcast messages to 100,000 unique users on a daily basis (in the 24-hour slot)
2.What if any businesses cross the daily limit?
The messages sent to users over the limit goes into Enqueued section of the campaign which will automatically be sent after 24 hours. For example, if a business is in the Tier 1 category and sends a broadcast to 1500 unique users. In this case, the broadcast will be sent to only 1000 users and the rest of 500 will receive the message after 24 hours.
3.How to increase the Broadcast limit?
The only way to increase the broadcast limit is by getting promoted to the next Tier. This can be done only if:
1. The quality rating is not low.
2. The cumulative amount of unique users the business sends notifications to adds up to twice its current messaging limit within a 7-day period.
See the charts below to understand how a business moves to the next Tier.

Broadcasting Rules
1.Can a promotional broadcast campaign be sent to the users?
Promotional Broadcast can be sent to only those users who are active i.e. with the 24 hours window. WhatsApp gives the 24-hour window slot for the business to interact with any kind of messages with the users. It can be promotional, query solving messages, up-selling messages etc. These messages won’t be a template message rather session messages.
Once the user becomes inactive (when a user doesn’t respond for straight 24 hours), the business can broadcast only template messages. And these templates messages are approved by WhatsApp itself which doesn’t approve promotional messages. Warm outreach and follow-ups are acceptable.
2.Can I send broadcast messages to users who haven’t saved my number?
Yes, the business can send broadcast messages to those users as well who haven’t saved the business’s contact number. This is something that isn’t plausible with WhatsApp Business App. The only condition here is that WhatsApp permits the business to send the broadcast to only opt-in users who have given consent to the business for receiving messages.
3.How to take opt-in from users?
There are various methods to take opt-in from users.
1. Have a checkmark in the lead contact form on your landing page taking consent and opt-in from users.
2. Send SMS and E-mail campaigns for opt-in.
4.Will my number get blocked by WhatsApp if I send too many broadcast messages?
This entirely depends on the Quality Rating. If your quality rating goes down, you’ll receive a warning notification in your FB Business manager. Still, if it doesn’t improve and continue to get deteriorated, your number will eventually get blocked. The quality rating decrease when people starts blocking you and this will only happen if you are sending promotional messages to the users or without opt-in.
5.Can I send a broadcast to those users who haven’t interacted with us on WhatsApp before?
Yes, you can import all the data of users that you want to send a broadcast to in the AiSensy platform and shoot them a broadcast campaign even if they haven’t interacted with you on WhatsApp before. While doing so, AiSensy believes that you have taken opt-in from all these users.
6.Do I need to get these broadcast messages approved by WhatsApp?
You need to get only the template messages approved. You can use these template message for broadcasting. In case you are sending a broadcast to an Active user, you can send template messages or the regular message (which doesn’t need approval from WhatsApp).
7.Can I send buttons and quick replies in broadcast messages?
Yes, with template messages you can send URLs, Buttons and Quick Replies. There can be a maximum of 3 buttons that can be sent with a template message. Also, rich media can be sent such as videos, images, docs, audios etc. with Regular and Template messages.
Quality Rating
1.What is a Quality Rating?
The WhatsApp Business API client Quality Rating shows the message quality that your customer received in the past 24 hours. Basically, there are three different quality states:
1. Green: High Quality
2. Yellow: Medium Quality
3. Red: Low Quality
2.How to improve Quality Rating?
To improve or maintain a high-Quality rating
1. Make sure messages follow the WhatsApp Business Policy
2. Only send messages to users who have opted in to receive messages from your business.
3. Make the messages highly personalized and useful to users. Avoid sending open-ended welcome or introductory messages.
4. Be mindful of messaging frequency; avoid sending customers too many messages a day. Be thoughtful of informational messages, optimizing for content and length.
3.What all factors affect Quality Rating?
The quality rating entirely depends on how the users are responding to your campaign messages. A good response is considered when the user interacts with the message either by clicking on the CTAs or replying to the message. If there are doing nothing, that is considered neutral. But, if the users start blocking you, that is considered a bad response.
4.Can I send a broadcast message even with a low-quality rating?
When your Quality Rating goes down, you will receive a warning notification in your Business Manager Account. Once you stop sending broadcast for some days, your Quality Rating will improve. Try to maintain a good quality rating for a week and your API rating will come back to healthy. But if you still continue to send broadcast, the quality rating will eventually deteriorate and the number will get blocked.
