Atrayee & Subham

As the old song goes, “Love is a many-splendored thing”, and it sure does wonders. Atrayee had always been insistent that she would never get married. But everything changed when she met Subham on Aisle. “ I saw the ad on Instagram and one of my friends had also used the app and was positive about it so I thought, why not give it try.”

Atrayee works as a content writer while Subham is an engineer working in the same city. It was the way Subham described himself in his profile that struck a chord with Atrayee. “ He looked really cute in his profile and the way he talked about himself I had to Like his profile. That’s when I realized he had also Liked my profile and that we could start a conversation right away.” They soon started chatting with each other, slowly paving the way for hours of phone calls.

“ We wanted to meet each other fairly early into starting our conversation but he was out of town during that time. So when he came back we decided to meet at this place called Cha Bar. It was one of the first things I asked him when we started talking. We ended up talking a lot. And his responses made me realize that we shared the same vibe. We ended up making plans to meet for the second time” chuckles Atrayee.

They had their second date during the Durga Pooja and kept meeting each other. It was during these meetings that they realized that what they shared was something special. “It had been six months since we met and knew each other. We were on a date and we realized that we wanted to take the relationship forward. We never really had such a conversation and then all of a sudden we realized that we didn’t have much time. We decided to take the matter to our parents.” Atrayee recalls.

Both of them were a little surprised by the reaction of their parents. “It had been six months since we met. And when we told our parents, they were ecstatic. Both of us had been adamant that we would never get married. And I think for them when we broke the news they were happy that we found each other more than anything. After that everything went on a fast track. Before we even knew it we had our wedding set for the 12th of July 2020” Atrayee explains.“We are both very different people. Our likes and our tastes are almost always at odds with each other. I am more into romance, love reading books and he is more into sci-fi and would rather do anything else before picking a book. I’m a very calm person and he has this almost restless energy about him. During our first date, I had almost decided not to meet him again.” Chuckles Atrayee. For her, be it their differences or what they have in common, they found something special within each other that they would cherish.
