Dating apps and social media came of age in the same era, and have always been interlinked.

While in its early days, social media was an interesting place to connect with new people, today dating apps have taken on that role. Social media is often thought of as a place where unwarranted advances are made by strangers you have no interest in.

Aisle has always taken this issue seriously, and has worked to ensure that our members and their privacy are respected. But today, social media profiles are crafted with just as much attention and concern as a profile on our app, which makes it a wonderful tool to tell someone more about the story of who you are.

Which is why in 2016, Aisle introduced the option to connect your Instagram account with the app. This enables other users to see a few photos from your Instagram, without viewing your handle, therein protecting your privacy.

But we believed that as one of the most secure relationship platforms in the country, we could create a way to extended to our users an even more exciting chance to club their social media with our app.

Introducing Facebook Folio

Aisle members are particular about who they connect with, but a profile on a dating app can only tell you so much about someone. Even with Aisle’s detailed applications, you merely get a glimpse of who a person is.

Which is why the first thing that most people would try to do when they come across a profile that seems interesting is to find and gauge the person on social media.

A person’s social media presence might only give us a surface level look into their lives, but a few basic posts can help us get a much clearer idea of someone’s wavelength.

With this in mind, we have launched a feature where you can choose to connect your Facebook profile with your Aisle profile, as a further step to help our users make more informed decisions.

How It Works

On launching the app after login, you will find an option to edit your profile. If you scroll to the bottom of the edit section, you can connect your Facebook with Aisle.

If you toggle the feature on, your profile will show a selection of your Facebook profile photographs, timeline posts and page likes.

Profile Pictures

Aisle members will be able to see your latest four Facebook profile pictures along the number of comments and likes they have received. Viewing the last few profile pictures someone has uploaded gives us a clear idea of how they look, how social they may be and a feel of the crowd they move in.

Timeline Posts

You will also be able to show the latest four posts you have made on your timeline. Looking at someone’s timeline gives us an idea of life updates that they consider important to share, their lifestyle choices and maybe even their sense of humour.

Page Likes

An Aisle member will also be able to see the last 25 Facebook Pages that you have liked. An aggregate of these likes gives us an understanding of trends and brands that a person associates with. Their taste in entertainment, where they consume content from, their fashion choices and places they like to frequent could be indicators that help a user decide if they have enough in common with someone.

Why Use Facebook Folio?

Facebook Folio reduces the possibility of discovering that the person you speak to is completely different from what you imagined them to be.

It also increases the chances of your invite being accepted by another user, as they are likelier to find something that piques their interest about you with the added space that you can now allow them into.

With the inclusion of this new feature, users can now approach someone on Aisle with a better insight about them. Finding the love you are looking for can be a daunting task. We believe in providing our users with the best platform we can create to aid their search for the one!

Upgrade to the latest version of the app to enjoy the new feature.
