On the 26th, we went to Berre L’Étang with a friend. It was available to travel to via a Cartreize bus (line 15), and I had heard it had a large lake next to it, so we decided to go. Of course, it was a small town, so there wasn’t much to it besides the lake itself. But, it was nice to walk around! Vincent and I often say that Aix-en-Provence could benefit from having a lake to walk around (can you tell we’re from Minnesota?) so it was nice to find a place with a lake. We walked along the shore, looking at the clear water and bending our necks against the wind.

We saw some boaters out on the lake, some joggers, and some children playing. It was really quite relaxing. We walked to the top of a hill with benches at the top, stopped to talk, and looked out at the view. Unfortunately, the side opposite the lake was made up of large industrial buildings, so it didn’t make for a very nice view.

After walking the lake, we explored the town a bit. There wasn’t much, but it’s always nice to explore new places. We saw a church and a park, and stopped for lunch at an Italian place called Le Petit Auberge. It was a nice day lazy day trip!
