Watching Rugby in France

Awhile back we met our French friend and he brought us to a local rugby game where Aix played against another southern team. We had never seen rugby in person before so it was pretty fun. The ground was wet and muddy due to the rain that day so it was surprising to us they were still playing.

I had a beer during intermission and we enjoyed the game — Aix lost but only at the last second. In fact, when the timer had run down, Aix was winning but we were told the game was still going on because the referee’s timer didn’t match the board so there was still time left. Okay, that’s weird. In that small window, the other team scored a goal and they were the victors. It didn’t seem fair but it was fun to watch.
