A look at the development behind the scenes of Akiverse pre and post Alpha

Akiverse development over the last few months has been almost all about Alpha, but that’s not all we’ve been doing. We’ve also been working on our NFTs, arcade game pipeline, Oden-Can SDK and building out the Akiverse world. This development roundup will give you a quick overview of everything we’ve been working on, and what that means for Akiverse players and NFT owners.

Alpha Release

We’ve focused our development efforts on building the features of our World Manager and Game Platform to give our early Game Center NFT holders a taste of Akiverse in our Closed Alpha release.

Our Alpha launch was the highlight of August. NFT owners entered Akiverse for the first time to test the first iteration of the Game Platform, with 3 arcade games available for a taste of what’s in store for the future.

Alpha was designed to give our early supporters a chance to test-and-earn by providing feedback for rewards, while having a bit of fun playing sample arcade games. We are processing all of the feedback that we’ve received, which will help to guide the development of future versions of Akiverse.

Alpha will remain open for all Game Center NFT holders until 30th September 2022. If you haven’t jumped in to test-and-earn yet, then now is the time!

Game Development

Akiverse is first and foremost a Game Platform, so game development will eventually be open to all utilizing our Oden-Can SDK. Development of the Oden-Can SDK is complete and we’ve run initial tests in preparation for its release.

Our development resources are allocated to building the Game Platform, so to build our arcade games we’re working with trusted third party developers. Of the 3 games released in Alpha, 2 are a unique (SMASHH!! and Neon Blitz) while the other (Bubble Attack) is a reskin of an arcade classic.

We’re just getting started with these first 3 sample arcade games on the Game Platform. Development work is well underway on more games with throwback vibes from classic arcade titles. We have 30 arcade games in the pipeline, and we’re planning on a staged release of new titles following our launch.

NFT Development

This month saw many updates and developments for Akiverse NFTs.

For our Game Center NFTs, a significant ecosystem change was made to require Arcade Machines to be installed inside Game Centers before they are playable on the platform. This change will increase demand for space in Game Centers, and thus increase the utility of these NFTs.

We are yet to release our two other types of NFT, but a large part of the contract development for Arcade Machines and Arcade Parts was completed in August. These 2 NFT categories will power the craft system for Akiverse, which will be a value creation mechanism for NFT holders allowing them to turn Arcade Parts into Arcade Machines.

Arcade Parts NFTs underwent a redesign in August to bring them in line with our world setting and streamline the crafting process. The new Arcade Parts will be revealed soon.

Akiverse World Building

As more and more metaverse projects are building different versions of virtual worlds for people to hang out in, rich and vibrant world settings are critical.

We are no exception to this rule, so we’ve teamed up with experienced story writers to build a world that goes beyond our 80s inspired retro arcade universe. We’ve put in some serious work on our world setting in August, and after a few finishing touches it’ll be ready to release, so get ready to see beneath the surface of Akiverse very soon!

We hope this development roundup shows you that there’s plenty going on behind the scenes in Akiverse. With Alpha coming to a close and Beta on the not too distant horizon, we’ll have plenty more project updates for you in the coming months.

AKIVERSE — The Entertainment Universe

Akiverse is an Entertainment Universe transforming virtual experiences into an entire entertainment metaverse that is both enjoyable and economically rewarding for all.

We are starting by building a play-and-earn mobile gaming arcade universe that is free-to-play for anyone, anywhere, anytime, making blockchain entertainment ultra-accessible.

In our retro arcade universe, you will transport yourself back to the 80s by playing fun and fast arcade games for $AKIR, or by building your arcade empire with Akiverse Game Center, Arcade Machine and Arcade Part NFTs.

The engine of the Akiverse ecosystem is the Craft System, which creates value and maintains a balanced token and NFT supply to provide a sustainable economy. The Craft System is a scalable ecosystem model that can be applied to diverse entertainment experiences to expand Akiverse exponentially beyond our arcade universe.
