Creating a crypto wallet:

In order to buy NFTS from a marketplace, you would need a crypto wallet. If you do not own a crypto wallet or your current crypto wallet is not supported, you may create one, fast and easy. MetaMask is recommended, one of the most widely used crypto wallets in the industry.

  1. Install MetaMask as an extension to your browser. (https://metamask.io/download/)

2. Create a wallet.

3. Set a password.

4. Record a secret recovery phrase.

Important Note: MetaMask encrypts your Secret Recovery Phrase (SRP) with your password. If you forget your password, need to import your wallet, or lose access to your account, you can reconnect to your account using the SRP.

No one, including MetaMask, can change or recover your SRP if you lose it. You may potentially lose all your NFTs and crypto funds. SRP should be stored offline!

Please keep it safe somewhere, one way is to back it up using an encrypted external hard drive. Do not let anyone know your SRP and guard it well!

5. Enter the same secret recovery phrase and click on Confirm.

6. You have now installed and created a wallet for your MetaMask.

You may now connect your wallet and buy our NFTs, do ensure that you have sufficient funds inside your crypto wallet. If not, you may purchase some funds through the crypto wallet itself. Skip to Topping up funds in your crypto wallet to learn more about purchasing funds for your crypto wallet.

Buying NFTs from the AKIVERSE Marketplace:

Step 1: Go to akiverse.io and click on “Marketplace”, which will redirect you to an open marketplace website for NFTs, TofuNFT.

Step 2: Create and connect your Crypto Wallet.

Step 3: Buying NFTs.
Currently, only Game Centers are available. A Game Center is where you can place your future Arcade Machine (AM) NFTs or choose to rent the space to other AM owners. Use the filter options to find your desired NFT.

NFTs on TofuNFT Marketplace can be bought in MATIC or WETH. By default, your network should be Ethereum Mainnet. To buy in MATIC, your network needs to be Polygon.

Click “Buy now” and follow the steps below to switch networks.

This NFT costs 150 MATIC. This means that you need to have 150 MATIC in your crypto wallet. Go onto the next page to learn more about topping up your funds in your crypto wallet.

Topping up funds in your crypto wallet:

To buy ETH, open your MetaMask extension browser and click on “Buy” and a popup window should come up. Choose any of your preferred deposit options and click on “Continue to _____”. Then proceed to pay.

Note: To buy MATIC, change your network from Ethereum Mainnet to Polygon and follow the same steps below.

Note that the network and processing fees change depending on the deposit option chosen and the amount of money being spent.

Buying NFTs on OpenSea:

You may see multiple Game Center NFTs from AKIVERSE being listed, including those being listed by other buyers.

Go to https://opensea.io/collection/akiverse-game-centers. Currently, we have listed some of the prime location Game Centers as an exclusive pre-launch. *Note that the number of listed items is subject to change.

  1. Choose your desired NFT through filters: Our Game Centers come in 3 sizes, Small (4 AM), Medium (16 AM), and Large (64 AM). You may filter the size of your choice by ticking the box as seen below. Likewise, there are different filters for Arcade Machines and Arcade Parts NFTs.

2. Buying NFTs:
When buying NFTs on OpenSea, you’ll be able to tell whether they are currently available just by hovering over the NFT. You can proceed to pay by card or your crypto wallet.

Note: AKIVERSE Game Centers are on the Polygon Chain. The price is shown in ETH but WETH(Polygon) will be needed for the transaction.

You may also click on the NFT to find out more information about it, such as its description, size, price history, and when the sale will end.

As you can see above there is a “Make offer” option, feel free to make an offer to the owner of the NFT. Sending an offer is similar to bidding, the seller may choose to accept the current highest offer. However, if still available, anyone can still buy the NFT.

Those NFTs without the “Buy now” option were either sold or made unavailable. You may choose to offer to the current owner of the NFT and wait. If they accept, the NFT will then be sold to you.

Transferring tokens between Ethereum and Polygon Blockchains:

Ethereum — a decentralized blockchain platform that establishes a peer-to-peer network that securely executes and verifies application code, called smart contracts.

Smart contracts allow participants to transact with each other without a trusted central authority. Transaction records are immutable, verifiable, and securely distributed across the network, giving participants full ownership and visibility into transaction data. Transactions are sent from and received by user-created Ethereum accounts.

Polygon — a secondary scaling solution built for and on the Ethereum blockchain. It was designed to improve the Ethereum network’s transaction processing speed and reduce transaction costs, also known as gas fees. The only downside of Polygon is that it is reportedly less secure than Ethereum. However, with its fast transaction processing speed and very low gas fees, it is equally attractive.

Why is it important to know?

Knowing the blockchain on which your NFT was minted is incredibly important in one key area, NFT transactions. Even though Polygon is built on Ethereum, they are still 2 different networks. Hence, the need to change networks when purchasing our NFTs.

In order to transfer digital assets like tokens from one blockchain or network to another, you need to use a crypto bridge. A popular crypto bridge for Polygon is https://wallet.polygon.technology/. Click the link and follow the steps below to learn more about how to transfer tokens from one network to another.

Transferring ETH from Ethereum Chain to Polygon Chain:

  1. Connect your wallet.

2. Click on Bridge.

3. Make sure to choose the network you are transferring from, in your MetaMask.

4. Choose a token from the drop-down option, enter an amount, and click on Transfer.

5. Click on Continue to review transaction fees.

6. Wait to complete the process.

*Note that when transferring ETH from Ethereum Chain to Polygon Chain — your ETH will be wrapped and become Wrapped ETH (WETH).

Frequently Asked Questions:

Can I convert my MATIC to WETH and vice versa?
Yes, you can. Click on the “Swap” button and on the drop-down menu, choose Wrapped Ethereum (WETH).

What if I don’t have ETH in my wallet? Can I still buy AKIVERSE NFTs on TofuNFT or OpenSea?
There are 3 ways to buy our NFTs on TofuNFT or OpenSea:

  1. if you have ETH: Bridge ETH to WETH via Polygon Bridge, you may then buy NFTs that are purchasable in WETH.
  2. Buy MATIC through MetaMask and buy NFTs that are purchasable in MATIC.
  3. Swap MATIC to WETH through MetaMask and buy NFTs that are purchasable in WETH.

Do note to take gas fees (transaction fees) into consideration when purchasing NFTs, gas fees are in MATIC.

Is Secret Recovery Phrase important?
Yes, please note down or back up your Secret Recovery Phrase somewhere safe. This phrase can be used to import wallet to another device.

I can only see Ethereum on MetaMask, where is MATIC?
MATIC is under the Polygon network. You would need to manually change to MATIC. Simply follow the instructions here. After following those instructions, your MetaMask network should now be able to change between Ethereum Mainnet and Polygon. You may now go on to top up your funds.

Why does the money in my crypto wallet keep changing? As the market moves, the price of the cryptocurrency you are holding changes. It is important that you keep track of the market, you may check it out here https://coinmarketcap.com/.

Am I able to do all these through my smartphone? You should be able to. However, PC is recommended if you are new to NFTs as it is more user-friendly.

Where can I see my NFTs? You may check your profile in OpenSea or TofuNFT. Both websites should be able to show you your NFT collection no matter which site bought it at.
