Dear 7teen Old Me

Hey it’s me, remember? It’s Us!

Am writing you from the future and its a world I believe your curious mind would love to see. The British just left the European Union and the world seems to head towards a world war and am wondering how life would be then.

Good news, am now a doctor! You dont have to worry about the rejections you get during your initial medical school applications. You ended up traveling miles to fulfill this dream and you learnt a lot on the course of this.

7teen, your country still remains the same even though some people claim it’s better now while some says its worst than before. But since am much wiser than you, I will tell you not to listen to what the leaders say as nothing has changed. We are currently being ruled by a president that ruled the country way before you were born and the people still behave and think the same way. Though I would be lying if I don’t mention the few advancement in technology. It’s amazing! I now own one of those touch devices you used to see in movies and boy, am grateful I got to experience it and don’t worry, you will too someday :)

7teen, remember those childhood girls you used to play with and liked? Am sorry to tell you that you didn’t end up with any of them and almost all are married or with someone else. But don’t be sad, you have been in love and out of it and has had some good time. But most importantly, you are now grown and looking for something meaningful and special. And oh, you will get rejected by a lot of girls, but don’t worry, you will also get accepted by a lot(some of which you reject). These experiences defines you and would make you to me. So take rejections wholeheartedly :)

Dear 7teen, life is hard, I think more harder than before but among such hardship, you will discover family and then you will know that family is not about blood but about those willing to take you by your hand when you need it most. You will almost quit some of your ambitions but please don’t. It might not fetch you immediate success but will make way for you to become who you are today and who you will be tomorrow. On a good note, you got to be noticed globally and have made some international appearances in newspapers, magazines and radios. You even had a TEDx talk and most importantly, you are on the verge of a breakthrough.

Dear 7teen, I have no real wisdom to pass to you as am still young and learning. But I have failed a lot of times but I never let it stop me from dreaming and developing. Just keep dreaming and keep doing what your heart says. Most importantly, don’t listen to anyone and oh, keep smiling :)

With lots of love.
