Ep. 7: Fear the Octoskull, The story of EarthQuaker Devices with Jamie & Julie

With an army of awards from NAMM, Guitar World and Premier Guitar, you might think EarthQuaker Devices is just a kickass maker of fine effects pedals with a global reputation that has grown as fast as the company has from its meager beginnings in an Akron basement.
But they’re more than another cool business that employs “50+ proud guitar nerds, a bunch of bearded dudes, and a couple ladies” — especially here. EQD is a cultural force.
That’s why Roger Riddle was eager to sit down with founder Jamie Stillman and VP Julie Robbins. He wanted to find out how this “international phenomenon” got started, what makes them tick and where this whole thing is heading.
This podcast is recorded and produced by Roger Riddle as part of The Devil Strip’s reporting on small business ownership and entrepreneurship, which has been made possible with support from The Fund for Our Economic Future and the Burton D. Morgan Foundation.
