What the client wanted to get, and why

Apprise, a startup specializing in software development services needed to provide customers with an ability to build their own social network apps. Not all of their clients had a technical background, so it was vital to create a solution that non-techies could use.

What Apprise needed to do is get a sort of white-label social network application template that can be adjusted for various businesses. The time needed on this adjustment and its simplicity did matter.

The main features Apprise wanted to ensure in their app were:

  • Let clients build & design their social network applications on the basis of the template without coding. At all.
  • Provide users with more customization opportunities than Facebook and the like do.
  • Let users own & fully control the data they will share via this social network app.
  • Add the basic functionality to the app template like reacting to messages and comments, editing a profile, adding friends, etc.

How we helped the client

Apprise turned to our team asking for help in developing a customizable front-end template that can be integrated with their back-end. The deadlines were strict, just about 2 weeks, so we got down to work without delay.

All the design was prepared in Sketch. To save days or even weeks of work, we opted for UI Bakery, a low-code web app builder, to create a web application front-end template. There, we were able to visually build a front-end for our future social network app template, and make the UI responsive much faster than in custom app development. A mobile application template of the social network app was created using a React Native framework — UI Kitten — that allows for building cross-platform mobile apps.

With Nebular, a web UI library, and Eva Design System under the hood, UI Bakery allowed us to speed up the design and development processes. Once the front-end was ready, we connected the data & the backend Apprise had provided.

What they eventually got

All in all, the use of UI Bakery and other tools mentioned allowed us to deliver Apprise the following results:

  • They got a white-label front-end template adjustable even by non-tech people for any business.
  • The app design can be easily customized to satisfy different clients.
  • They got a functional social network app template just in 2 weeks.

As a result, Apprise got a ready-to-use responsive frontend template optimized for web and mobile, and with an ability to connect the frontend to their backend 2 times faster than within traditional manual development.

The company’s clients can access the Apprise’s project right in the UI Bakery apps builder, and use the template to visually create a social network app consistent with their style guides.

Thus, we helped Apprise get a customizable social network app template easily and quickly.
