Meet Lucy
Name: Lucy Zhang
Position: Software Engineer Co-op (Intern)

Alacris is working to build a protocol so the average developer and engineer can create distributed applications without worrying about any low-level functions. However, another mission of ours is building future engineers, architects and developers to build the future of blockchain, at any level. We believe in trial by fire, just ask Lucy who describes her work at Alacris as “coding and asking questions.”
Lucy, 23, is one of two interns that will be spending the next four months helping to actually build Alacris and she isn’t kidding when she says coding and asking questions is what she does. All work day, she is working and talking out solutions with her fellow co-workers.
“I enjoy being able to work on the topics I’m passionate about: Programming Languages, compilers, and game theory,” she said. “In fact, working on something I am passionate about is what gets me out of bed in the morning.”
Although she’s moved quite a bit as a child with her mother, father and older brother, Lucy considers herself a native of Ann Arbor, MI and currently lives in Dedham, MA. She is pursuing her master’s degree in Computer Science at Northeastern University where she is also on the executive board for the CCIS Masters Council, and already holds a bachelor’s degree in Economics from Northeastern University. Lucy also brings with her experience from her positions at MIT Lincoln Lab and Wayfair.

How did you first hear/get interested in Blockchain?
- One of my professor told me about a project he was doing on the side for a blockchain company and I was intrigued and looked into it more.
Who inspires you?
- My professors and friends at school.
Where is your favorite place in the world?
- I’m not sure I have a favorite, but the food in Tokyo is delicious!
What was the last book you re?
- Mastering Ethereum: Building Smart Contracts and DApps by Andreas M. Antonopoulos
What is your favorite thing to do/ spend your time doing outside of work, i.e. do you have a hobby or hobbies?
- I like to cook, bake, and watch horror and sci-fi movies.
